Hi, New Parker Owner from Virginia
Hello fellow Parker owners. I just recently purchased a 1919 Parker Trojan in late November at a local show. I was looking for a nice double s/s and I heard of the name in all my researches online but I can tell you this... when I saw this gun and held it in my hands and aimed at an imaginary bird toward the ceiling of the facility, I knew I had to buy it. I'm planning on taking it for a spin this week at our local shooting range. A gunsmith already approved it's worthiness for some action... so I'm very excited. There are some stamp marks on the flats of the barrels that I'm interested in... I guess I'll find out what all those mean eventually.

Post pictures if you can and also tell us what the serial number is. Then someone with a serialization book can tell you how it left the factory, if it's in the book.
|
Thanks, I posted a few pics.

Hi, I posted all photos under "All Albums" bar. I haven't figured out how to upload photos any other way yet.

The PSS3 is a Remington repair code. Your gun was to Remington in June (P) 1947 (SS) for some service, the records of what have never been found. The "Research Letters" pick on the home page shows the PGCA has copies of the factory production records for your gun.

The PGCA site did a hic-up while I was doing the above post and I didn't get in that the J.G. in the oval is the mark of Jim Geary the foreman of the barrel shop when your gun was made.

Looks like this was part of the repair...

Thanks to all
Thanks to everyone for the additional info regarding my Parker. I think it's cool to own a "piece" of history...
|
Congratulations on your "new" Parker.
As a former Virginian, just curious where you are in the Old Dominion. We have members there you may want to reach out to. |

I live in Williamsburg. That would be great to meet some new shooting buddies... appreciate it! |

As a PGCA member, you should have a membership list with names and addresses of other members.
|
We have order book records. Without giving out too many details the gun was a 12g 30" Trojan and shipped to Washington State.
|
I finally got out to a range with some buddies and shot some sporting clays. The gun felt and worked great! I'm very happy with my new Parker... I smashed a lot of clays.
