That would be the barrel steel. In this case Parker Peerless Steel which would typically be associated with a higher grade (7 or 8) Parker. Tell us more about this gun please??

I have had the gun for about 50 years. It was given to my Father Richard Stearns III by Harry Nye. Harry Nye or his father I believe bought the gun new. Harry is Teddy Turner's grandfather. Both Harry and my Father were world champion Starboat sailors. My Father was an Olympic medalist in sailing and in the US sailing hall of fame. He also was an avid hunter and skeet shooter (some trap). He was also on the Illinois Pheasant hunting team in the early 60's.
Attached are some fun shot. I hope you enjoy them |
Wow. What a gun. I'm sure many of the knowledgeable Parker folks will respond.
Thanks for posting. |
Wow!! That is a spectacular gun Sir. There's a lot I like about that one. You are indeed a lucky man to have that one, and with the provenance. Does not get much better than that.

What a fine piece of family history.

Beautiful! How about a pic of the bottom of the receiver and the right side?

Beautiful Parker Bros. shotgun. Have you gotten a PGCA research letter on the gun?

What a wonderful gun. Your father sounds like an amazing fellow.

I'm awestruck!
Yes, more pictures please! You should write a Parker Pages article on this fantastic firearm, or have someone here write it for you if you're not up for it. This gun needs to be honored in this way. Thank you for posting this. David Noble |

Reggie B wanted pictures of the receiver. Here you go. Any insight about this gun I would love to hear. Although I have had it for 50 years I just saved it and took care of it. I am curious now. Thanks
