NORTHERN SxS RESULTS

The event is completed. What a great weekend of shotgun fun. Even the weather cooperated again, no rain for four days. Good time, good food, good shooting, good friends-old and new. We hope to see y'all and some more new faces here for the 2026 iteration of the Northern SxS Challenge. Here are the event and award winners....

Outstanding! I really wanted to attend but with my car all smashed up and in the body shop for repair, plus the grandkids making the local swim club All Stars finals, duty and family called! So great to see so many new names among the winners as well as the newer blood and the "Old Duffers" we know have knocked them out over the years! Looking forward to these results, I smoked a fine imported cigar this AM as I sneaked out for a quick round of sporting clays. Well done to all and the fine weather over the course of the event was indeed a bonus and a blessing!

A lot of new faces and the usual cast of characters graced us with their presence this week. This event is a lot of work but worth every ounce of effort! We really love seeing the smiles and camaraderie that our double gun friends bring out during these celebrations. It also does our hearts good to see so many breaking out the Hawaiian shirts on Friday! The planning for the 2026 event starts now!

A huge thanks to Mike, Sam and his crew as the event was.... well, uneventful. It ran smoothly and the Friday night feed was over the top. About the only thing missing was Hawaiian music at the feed. The camaraderie was great, the targets were more than breakable and for July, one couldn't really complain about the weather. It was great seeing new faces there especially Clark and Beverly who are now hooked and shot extremely well for newbies on the course.

If you can't have fun doing this then I feel sorry for you.

Absolutely what Daryl says above: huge thanks to Mike, Sam and their crew. You did a fantastic job.

And Mike, yes great to see all those Hawaiian shirts. Would dancers in grass skirts be in the future? Naw, us old guys don't need that.

As long as the dancers are girls, where's the problem?:):)

I did get Taylar to shake her money maker. Does that count?

Clark McCombe 07-29-2025 04:42 AM

Someone got very close to wearing a grass skirt ( it was in the luggage ) but she got too busy serving pie to get changed.....

I hope it was Beverly and not you that was planning on wearing the grass skirt.

On second thought make sure Mr. Koneski doesn't get hold of that skirt because he would be crazy enough to wear it. I would never be able to get that out of my mind's eye.

I know guys were taking pics during the Friday Night Feed. If y'all can get some posted onto a new thread, that would be most excellent.

I don't have any pics from the Friday Night Feed but I do happen to have a pic of a ruggedly handsome squad seen at The Rock. L-R, yours truly, Jeff Kuss, Dan Steingraber, Chuck Bishop, Ed Blake. We had quite the good time. Mike & Sammy do a great job and Glenn did a good job with the targets and keeping an eye on the traps, he was always hovering around somewhere waiting for a breakdown which was rare except for that ornery #3 on the 5 stand. I'm thinking one of them Fox boys put a load in it. The trappers did a good job also, at least the ones I had, you can tell Vicky, Liv, Brian, and Bob that I said so please :)

The Friday Night Feed was the best ever, thanks to all that participated and helped to pull that off.

What are the dates for next year Mikey :corn:

Evil Mike at what he does best. The whole weekend boils down to this event on the 5 stand.

Chuck Bishop 07-31-2025 06:05 PM

Well once again Mikey forgot to put my name on the winners list. He does that every year!!!:banghead:

Mike Koneski 07-31-2025 06:15 PM

Randy, the 2026 dates look like July 23-26. MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

A few more pictures from the after hours feast. I don't know if I would trust the guy with the tongs. Don't bend over!

Mike Koneski 08-07-2025 09:50 AM

We only had to mail trophies to three shooters. Everyone should have received your "BLING" by now. Display it proudly!

Second year as “First Loser” in this event. Great bling from The Rock all the same.
