Ejectors? And 10Ga Questions?

2 Attachment(s)
Hello Forum Folks.

I inherited a couple Parker SxS and I looked into the Parker ID tab on the website to learn more. Very cool site. Serial numbers are showing me that this hammer gun was made in 1887 on a #2 frame and the hammerless in 1889 on ad #3 frame.

Both are marked as Grade 3. I've got 4 questions really for the experts out there.....1: Are these ejectors that I'm seeing in the breach? 2:If so would they be listed as DE grade (Hammer) and DHE (Hammerless)? Also, the Hammer gun has a tag that lists it as a 10 GA. There are no listings for 10GA in the Blue book. 3:Would these 10GA DE guns hold any value in a sale? Finally, is the Gauge stamped on the barrels as well and how would I know the length of shell? I'd like to knock some ducks down with these cool old guns this coming Fall.

Thank you for any help on this.

Both are extractor guns. Hammer guns were not made with ejectors and the hammerless gun is too early to have them.

Both look like fine guns.

True Brian, and on the hammerless doll’s head rib extension there are no travel slots for the individual ejectors.

Hammerless gun looks to be a grade 3 or D as it has a dog in an oval

DuggerWebster 07-13-2025 08:06 AM

Yes Sir Dean.. that 59019

Also thank you Brian Dean and Jim.. I’m slow on the technology and learning the forum thing. Very helpful

So then… the Parker Gun Serialization book shows it as a D3 (Grade 3 or D) with Damascus barrels with an original length of 32 inches.

Nice! So should I assume this one is 12ga at 2-7/8 shells or 2-1/2?

Measure the chambers.

Hammer gun

So, does the hammer gun have 32" barrels or have they been shortened?
And then, what's the serial number and barrel length on the other gun?

DuggerWebster 07-13-2025 01:34 PM

Will have to measure those barrels later.. serial number is 51221

I’d assume it was 2 5/8” and since it’s Damascus I’d shoot nothing heavier than something like RST 1 1/8 ounce loads maybe a 1 1/4 ounce load if they make one that isn’t stout .https://www.rstshells.com/store/c/3-12-Gauge.aspx
