Tulsa

Anyone going to Tulsa next weekend?

Tom Hawkins 03-28-2025 02:54 PM

I will be there Saturday with two sons and a grandson.

Randy G Roberts 03-29-2025 06:26 AM

I'm planning on making the trek.

John Allen 03-31-2025 08:01 AM

I am set up downstairs. Come by and say howdy.

Randy G Roberts 03-31-2025 08:09 AM

10-4 that John, safe travels.

I want to make Tulsa but knee replacement 3 weeks ago made it impossible. Any new treasures acquired?

Steve Scobee 04-05-2025 05:44 PM

Yes, but no Parker’s

Paul Ehlers 04-06-2025 09:45 AM

Good luck with the knee recovery Craig. Follow the Doctors orders and be sure to do the rehab.

3 weeks out from knee replacement? You should be out and about by now Doc!

Good trip

I really enjoyed Tulsa with 2 of my boys and 1 grandson. Found a really nice DHE 20 with 30" tubes and a NOS 1 of 1000 Ruger 77 264 mag. Had a great time with the grandson. The cell phone really helped keep track of him which was nice. It used to be a lot tougher keeping track of the group before cell phones.

No Parkers but I did find a really nice LC Smith Field grade

Steve Scobee 04-06-2025 01:22 PM

Please disregard

Cell phones were a big game changer for the Tulsa show. Back in the day before we had decent cell service, we had to tell potential buyers at the table that owner of the gun was away from the table & I couldn't cut a deal on his gun.

Then we tried walkie talkies for a couple of years and due to the way, the building was set-up they were spotty at best. Then came cell phones and they were a game changer because we could always get in touch with the others, we we're sharing tables with.

Picked up a 32 inch LC Smith trap grade

Mike Poindexter 04-07-2025 01:30 PM

I shared a table on the lower level with a friend. My first time at the show. I will probably not go again. Too many black guns, new guns, new knives, jewelry booths, gimmick booths, leather goods booths, etc. for my taste. My other impression was that most of the guns were overpriced. VH 12 Parkers for $3000; Trojans for $2000, field grade LC's for $2000, JABC's for $1000. Most of the new revolvers were $1000 or more. The nicer guns carried commensurate increased prices. Eagle grade Smith $16,000 etc etc.
I did find a 3rd model Smith Hand Ejector 32 with a 4 1/4 " barrel in really nice shape for $450. The one saving grace of the show is that buying and selling is done the old fashioned way. I wont elaborate on that. Anyway, thats my impression and Im sticking to it. Others may differ.

Sounds like I got a really good deal on my Field Grade LC!
