Anyone get anything on the auction today? Gary

I bid on 4 different guns but walked away empty handed. A lot of the guns went for quite a bit more than the estimates.

I bid one one gun but stopped at my threshold of pain. Someone else wanted more than me. Yes, some guns went way beyond their estimates. Others, not so much.

Oh yeah I got an A-1 Special , NOT !!!!! That musta been a dream :rotf::rotf::rotf:

Nothing for me except a check for my consignments, guns I decided to sell to upgrade.

Anybody here get the DH12, last Damascus Parker produced?

I tried, but failed. Wish I had bought it at the Southern last year. Adding the rake, etc., it went for substantially more than.

You didn't have to wait 40 days to get paid??

Louis, that gun was not at the Southern last year, was in my gunsafe( belonged to my wife's uncle).
Do you happen to know what it went for approximately.

Reggie: No I have to wait 45 days like everyone.

That there Parker was hard to look away from, it was easy on the eyes:shock:

It hammered at $10K.

I was very surprised at the selling prices of the 28 gauge Parker Reproductions. Two barrel set sold for $9,600 and single barrel also sold for $9,600. The latter was a double trigger gun.

I was surprised that lot #27- .410 VHE sold for $66,000 and
lot #28- .410 and 12 ga. VHE sold for $ 33,000

Some very impressive prices - also on the Brownings I was watching. I gave up short on the VH 20 gauge .. so, if anyone has a 'very nice' VH 20 ..

I only bid on one item, got outbid by $20,000. My computer was smoking.

I’m interested to know if the choke on that gun is really .009. I think you will enjoy it, looked like a really nice one.

I lusted mightily after Lot 10, the 30" DHE 28 ga. with RAILBIRDS!!! engraved all over, but I was a little short (by c. $35K) and the Kelly Blue Book on my RAV 4 Toyota would have still put me shy of the balance. To soothe my angst, I went back and handled it while no one was around during the preview. Wes Dillon, my auctioneering buddy of 35 years or so, walked in on me just as I shouldered it for the 17th time and said it looked great on me!

That gun alone was worth the drive over to see it in hand.

The .410 VHE was in much better condition and had a higher level of finish; the 12 and .410 of Lot 28, not so much. But I thought the combination of the two at the hammer price was a good deal, especially if you never owned a .410 and always wanted one. Both were well used but definitely not abused.

Josh, Wes, and the G&D staff were wonderful hosts and should be congratulated on a great auction. Those who missed out on their bids, myself included, will remember this auction for months to come.

I had wanted to go Wednesday to see the A-1 the DHE 28 , the AH 10 all of Jerry Smith’s pieces , the matched pair of Brit 10’s and of all things the Francotte three barrel 12 . But other things kept me from going .

I won a gun and a beautiful watercolor while eating stuffed hushpuppies in Charleston at Fleets Landing. Generally I dislike technology, but it worked well this day.

I would like to let you know I won the auction for the DH12. I was actually alerted to this gun by Josh. It fits in real nice with 2 other parkers I have (that Josh sold me). The last Damascus C grade (TPS pg. 718) & the last Damascus B grade. Yes, I'm a sucker for Damascus.
I usually try to get Parkers I am willing to shoot, either birds or clays(and I shoot my Damascus Parkers the most), but when this gun came up for sale I couldn't resist.

Louis, I got to meet you at the 2023 Vintagers At Warrington. You were sitting at my tent when my brother and I showed up. I'm on the right(your left).Attachment 132048

Warrington has since gone out of business and I was able to buy several of their MEC traps to set up a 5 stand on the farm. Gonna get those long barrel Parkers out and stretch their legs.

I really thought about it, but I would have almost felt guilty shooting it since it appeared so close to unfired:rolleyes:

If it doesn’t have cool Damascus barrels of some flavor, it isn’t no fun to shoot!

Congrats Jim, it is a fine gun, as stated earlier, it was in my gun safe for over a year. I could have had it but assured my wife's cousin that it could bring more than I wanted to pay, and like you said, would probably never shoot it.
Stan, I had that gun at Rock Mtn in July of 23, the year you plugged the leak in My truck tire. I showed it to a few people, Jeff Kuss, Randy, Frank Sebro to get their opinion on it, don't know if you saw it
