Pheasant Fest Plan!
 

I had a brilliant idea regarding Pheasant Fest! On day 1, I will push Chuck in his wheelchair over to the Kids Pavilion where he will have his face painted by the resident artist. That, my friends, will grace the cover of the Summer issue of Parker Pages! This is going to be sooooo much fun!! 🤩 Too bad Matt and Dean Hanson will miss it. 😢

Can’t wait! Elaine and I have our Hawaiian shirts, too. :bigbye:

I'm planning to pop in on Saturday; just advising everyone so they can plan their escape routes.

Who is manning the booth? A very good friend of mine Bob Mele will be manning the Ryman Setter table next to the Parker guys. I've told him to buy tickets for the raffle gun!!

There will be a number of exemplary Parker reps at this event. They will be glad to sell him some tickets I am sure!

Mike, there is a bird dog parade at the Fest. Lots of little people in dog suits!

Make sure you say hi to him Mike, I believe he's shot at the Rock before with or without me. Great guy. He's only one of the dozen or so Ryman setter breeders in the US. Thornplum Kennels in Hancock, NY.

Thank you Garry! I just was just texting him. He said he's good for tickets and he'll join because I told him to. Now only if my wife would listen to my recommendations! He's a Maine grouse hunter and I'm sure you'll see him in a Parker soon.

Friday I should have on my English Setter Hawaiian shirt. Maybe I’ll join in?

We ordered Gordon Setter Hawaiian shirts a while back. They may have been caught up in the many tariff issues—we’ll see. :banghead:

I’m sure you could march with the pups, especially if you’re pushing Chuck in a wheelchair. :)

I can push Chuck in his scooter. If I put a collar and leash on him maybe he’ll pass as a clumber??

Kirk, I hope they are waiting for us at our post office when we return from our trip. So, are you a Gordon lover, and might we see you at the Fest?

I'll be walking my Gordon in the parade on Friday, attending some of the presentations, checking out the vendors, sampling arena food. It's got so many seminars you need at least two days to catch all of the ones of interest, but I've only taken in Fridays at each that I've been to--next time it's up in Omaha I'll get in multiple days.

I hope you can wander by with your Gordon. There are several members who have Gordon’s, too. Check out some of my threads in the hunting section to see some photos.

BTW, the Hawaiian shirts arrived and my wife and I will be wearing them on Hawaiian shirt Friday.

Just how widespread is that Hawaiian shirt Friday going to reach?

All trends start somewhere. This one’s epicenter is the Parker Gun Collector’s booth. We would love to have a new member owned by a Gordon join us there.

Well the young polish lad that started it is kinda wide , so you can go from there :whistle::rotf:

Some of us Parker shooters began doing it about 5 years ago. It took off 2-3 years ago at various multi-day shoots. We really made it big at our July shoot at Rock Mountain where we had easily 20 or more shooters wearing Hawaiian shirts. Everyone who wore a Hawaiian shirt or bright bowling shirt got lei’d too!! :rotf::rotf:

I see. How did he get lei'd? :shock::):):) And don't tell me it's the shirt. He'd get beat up if he showed up in a west Baltimore corner bar. But a handsome rebel non the less.

According to the CEO ( nice lady behind the counter) at Rock Mountain last year I was the first one that got leid and she put the lei around my neck :whistle:

Yes I said that at the top of the thread and wish I could make it. I’m four days out from knee surgery so couldn’t manage it. That’s my buddy Bob who owns Thorn Plum. A totally likable guy who will join PGCA because I told him he had to and he’ll buy gun tickets. You will hit it off. Travel safe all going.

Just a post script here: Kirk did come by our booth and bring his beautiful Gordon. Thanks, Kirk! We enjoyed talking with you, and getting a chance to see your pup.

Thanks, I hope the raffle was a success in sales, and I surprised myself I wasn't ashamed to admit I'm too chicken to shoot damascus barrels. Just rolled out naturally when I heard myself saying it.

Not surprisingly, your display guns were gorgeous.
