SA 193687

The latest arrival to the Parker SBT Gun Room here in Northern California.................a long awaited SA! This beautiful SA is serial #193687, as completed in April of 1921.
First, I would like to express a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to our very own Research Czar, Mr. Chuck Bishop for his help in assisting with this acquisition. Thank you very much Mr. Bishop!! As Mr. Larter and others have attested, there still are Parkers out there that are waiting to be found!!! I am extremely humbled to be the current custodian of such a wonderful find. Here are the specs on this magnificent Parker Single Barrel Trap. Serial# 193687 Completed April 19, 1921 (and has been in the same family since!) 12 Gauge 34" ACME Steel Barrels (did I mention they are 34"!!) Original Hawkins Pad DAC: 1 5/8" DAH: 2 3/8" LOP: 14 1/4" x 14 1/2" Stock Medallion Initials: "CPW" Weight: 7lbs., 12 ounces This gun walked into the Cabela's Gun Library in Glendale, AZ. The lady that carried the gun in is the original owner's Granddaughter. After all these years none of her family or kin had any interest in the shotgun, so she decided to part with it. Her Grandfather, Mr. Carter Patton Weaver (CPW) was an avid trapshooter, and ordered the gun directly from Parker in 1921. Doesn't look like he ever used it much!! Doubt I could either. The granddaughter mentioned that her Grandfather was originally from Germany, and I can't help but wonder if that is what influenced what I would call the "Schnabel" type checkered grip that he custom ordered. I've never seen another one like it, and I am certain it was done at the factory. More to come on this Parker SA in the future. |
What a find! Congrats! It is a beautiful Parker!

Thank you Reggie!! It is a beauty!! The pics don't do it justice. The case colors are awesome!! Thanks, Bobby |
That's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't know that Parker Brothers made a grade 6 SBT. Stunning wood.

Glad I could help

Beautiful stock and specialty trap-shooting grip. Reminds me of John Dunkle’s great-grandfather’s 34” AAHE double trap from around the same year with a very special one-of-a-kind grip.

Thank you Tennessee Dave. Yes, the wood is outstanding. I will get a good pic of the forearm as well, it is equally impressive. Parker made 32 (known) Grade 6 (SA) SBT's. I know another gentleman from Georgia often found on this forum has a few of them. They are beautiful!! Thanks, Bobby |
Very nice ! Now ya need an SAA
|
Bring it for the People’s Choice!! Congratulations.
|
Stunning!!
|
Outstanding!!!!!
|
What a package, got it all!!! Beautiful!
|
What a beauty. The SA and the SA1 are missing from my collection. The SAA is about unknown. My SAA is a Runge upgrade. Still looking.
|
If you diligently search there are great Parker’s that are not in circulation/have been in collections outside what we know is out there. That’s what makes Parker’s great!
Congratulations! |
Gunner, that is a sexy Parker SBT!!
|
Waiting for the pic of the equally impresssive forearm...

Sorry Dean, I will get a pic of it when I get home tonight!!!! :) |
Bobby I'm so happy for you WOW! I hope to meet you at one of the PGCA events in 25 along with your fantastic Parker Trap. Well done!
|
Bobby, if that was my gun I'd remove the front bead site and shoot the heck out of it. But that's just me. ;)
|
Gunnergrilli,
Great find and gorgeous SBT! But don't let Davis anywhere near it! Nothing wrong with a front bead if you look at the TARGET! |

Here is the Forearm Wood............................
Thanks!! Bobby |
If someone could re-orientate the first picture it would be appreciated. Thank you!! Not sure why I can't do that. :)
Thanks!! Bobby |
Interesting. Both of my SA’s have that same checkering pattern. And both of my SB’s have a much more intricate checkering pattern on the forearm.

Thanks John. Could we see pics of that SB Forearm? I have a SB that has the same exact checkering pattern, or close to it. Really no difference that I can recall. I will take a picture of it. Thanks!! Bobby |

LPI's are finer on the SA's but the SB's are more intricate in design.
