I set up a block of rooms at the Quality Inn & Suites Vestal for Hausmann’s (Northeast SxS) June 5-7th.

You can pick whatever dates you want from Wed. June 4 through Sun. June 8. Rooms are 1 King or 2 Double for $104/night.

? I was told by someone that it was not taking place this year. Not by this board but someone local, so this is news to me. Go figure. But then again I'm not good at paying attention to things.

I just called and left a message asking if it was on for 2025.... waiting for a call back.

If Sara posted it here, I'm sure she must have gotten word that it is on for June 2025.

I figured out who it was, and he knows Ernie and Morris well and he did indeed tell me they were done with it. Maybe they added it back in. I'll wait for you to update Dean before calling them.

We have never experienced any sort of problem staying in New York and I don't see areason to change at this point.

PA is a gun friendly state, NY is not. Enough said.

Andy says the risk of staying in NY state with a firearm is overblown. Others say it a potential problem. Someone must have a definitive answer as how to stay in NY state legally while in possession of a firearm and ammunition to fit that firearm. From what I can glean from a google search it seems that a long gun can be TRANSPORTED through the state possibly with the exception of NY City as long as the gun is secured in a locked case (examples give a locked plastic or metal gun case) and out of sight in the vehicle (in the trunk was an example). The same advise was given for ammunition. But I cannot find anything that addresses staying overnight in NY State with firearms. There has to be an answer to this. If someone knows the NY Law please share it with us, Thanks,

Been staying in Vestal for years with no problems. Well, I have stayed in a hotel with a bird dog without paying the $10.00 dog fee, just a minor problem. I didn't get caught.

Steve, let's just say that there are clear laws about LEAVING a gun in your vehicle that it must be locked in a case. In your possession it's like any other state. Now, I'm just going to ask you to wonder if every shooter at every gun range in every county in NY goes to and from the range/course with locked gun cases and let you draw your own conclusion. Do NOT confuse this with any love for this state. I hate it with every fiber of my being, but I'm here with my family, relatives, house, dogs, business so I put up as long as I have to. In the years since the SAFE act not me, or anyone I know, has had a problem with the laws. What they will not tolerate is handguns without a valid permit and with a magazine over the capacity limit. That will cause trouble for sure. I'd say if it's a place you want to stay, stay and don't worry about it. Personally I wouldn't leave my guns in the car overnight while I were in a hotel anyways. Last time I took my shotgun to Delaware to shoot at MM a kid looked at my Perazzi case and asked what kind of clarinet I played.

I have always brought my guns into my Vestal hotel room with me. Never a problem.

Doubletree downtown is nice, but it's a longer ways from Ernies and smack in the middle of Binghamton. I'd look at the Hampton and best Western in Owego and other places in Vestal. There are still dining options in Owego. Clearly I don't stay in hotels here since I live here but seems like there are more than enough. Just over the river in Johnson City you have a lot of options and dining (Cacciatores).

Ernie's Hidden Hollow website lists plenty of B&B's and hotels in the general PA and NY area. Just for info, the chain hotels in or near Tunkhannock, PA are 40-45 mins (real time, not a estimate) from Hidden Hollow and an easy drive mostly through rural areas with little traffic. Just putting this out there to compare with alternates in NY for group rates.

Incidentally, golf cart rentals can be made with Sharon at Empire Golf Carts in New York at 315-289-2087.

Glad I saw this post tonight as I re-read the thread. I was never contacted by the hotel to let me know my confirmed reservation was no longer valid. Unbelievable!!! Was able to get a hotel in PA!!
