Does anybody have pictures of any of the actual Parker shell boxes?

It will be a fun project if I can get some decent images.

The ones off Guns America are too faint to work off of unfortunately.

Destry

with the rough example as a guide for the outside lettering

you might use one of the reproduction primer tin labels for the logo center

I can't find a good photo of the ones I had but there are a couple in this old thread by Dean

Where would the picture of a setter go on the box?

Brian Dudley 01-22-2025 01:38 PM

Brian Hunt, the Ithaca dealer, regularly sells reproduction shell boxes at the shoots he sets up at. I think they are done by the one guy who works for him at the shows. He reproduces a bunch of different labels and pits them on blank cardboard shells boxes. He ages them and sells them for like $25 each at the shows. He always sells a number of them.
Some of the variations they sell are pretty rare with originals having auction sales of $350 plus. He stamps them on the back with a small “Ithaca Gun Company” stamp, to mark them as reproductions.

A funny story about that is that Brian was telling me about how they age them. They dunk them in a pal of old coffee and then set them to dry out. And beyond that, they just kick them around and play catch with them when they feel like it.

I make my boxes out of cereal or cracker boxes

When you take the box apart and see the Cheerios logo on the inside- that will give you a hint :)

I've bought several repro boxes on the bay; used to be some really cool ones on there but haven't looked in a while; aged this one myself...

I believe this says 20 shells in a box, will see if the photo loads. Found in an old house.
