Is This Gun Ligit?
Have a look at this one. Very unusual as it has what appear to be factory 16ga barrels.

That's what they are. Rare gun. Look in the Repro catalog.

Keavin,
Robin Lewis posted an album of Parker Reproduction catalogs and articles. I don’t see a link to the album from the main homepage. This is a link to the album https://parkerguns.org/forums/album.php?albumid=99 Ken |

I see no issue on why this offering would not be considered legit as a factory original set, other than why is it not in a 3-bbl. case?
|
The engraved wedges and muzzle bands on the 16 gauge do not match the 20 gauge sets of barrels, and the rib matting is slightly different than the 20 gauge barrels. This is normal for this set ??

Also look at the Winchester Parker inscription on the rib. They did a flat mill cut then engraved the logo. Also, no Krieghoff markings on water table. I'll bet the 16ga barrel is a Galazan (Merkel) barrel that's been doctored up to match the A1 barrels. If it was an original 3-barrel set it would be in a 3-barrel case. To me, it's an added on Galazan 16 ga barrel to an original 2-barrel set.

The markings on the rib and the top of the barrels may give us more of a clue. I haven't seen any A-1 Special 16 gauge barrels, so I am no help.
|
I know I wouldn't pay an extra $8 to $10 K for a set of possibly added (non factory original) 16ga barrels, unless it's accompanied by written documents such as an original bill of sale, or letter from Parker Repoductions.

Do we know the serial number of the subject gun?
. |
Yes 20-180, the 16ga. bbls. are stamped 16-180. As we know the A-1 Special’s, as do all Repro's, have their own set of S/N’s per grade and gauge.
