Sporting clays Special

Talk me out of buying this 4k seems like a steal https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1067557417

Good deal, but the beavertail counts me out.

I agree, but still awful tempting

The seller has no idea of the true value of what he’s selling. Buying this gun would be like helping a widow out just so she can get it out of the house.

I don't see the barrel flat stamping that would show that its legit.

You're right Kenny, the ISC stamping in the barrel flats is not shown. However, there is another pic in the listing that confirms it as being a legitimate Sporting Clays Classic.

Kenny Graft 11-20-2024 05:27 PM

I see it, #8 of 33

Greg Baehman 11-20-2024 05:32 PM

Actually, it is pic #17 that confirms it for me. Narrowing taper of the bottom rib going out to the muzzles.

Not to get too off the topic of the sporting clays gun, but does it seem like the 12 gauge reproductions prices have tanked lately?

I think you could make a generalization like that with most twelves, as its been trending that way for quite a while now. Take a look at the 12ga. Birmingham boxlocks, 12ga. Spanish sidelocks, as well as others for examples. There are always outliers to that trend, however. Circling back to the topic, this Sporting Clays Classic sold very recently on GI with a $7995.00 asking price.

It only has 1 trigger!

Yup, single trigger Parker Repros have tanked. Double trigger Repros are as sought after as ever. Double trigger 12 gauges are very scarce.

You won’t believe it, but this gun was for sale at my club. I walked in yesterday and it was marked $5200. I was considering buying it. Today they marked it down to $4000. It just followed me home! The wood is really nice and the condition is excellent showing very little use. The case is a little dirty on the outside but a great package. There are only the two chokes that are in the gun and I will need help finding more.
I have an early VHE Parker but not as nice as this one. I actually like the beaver tail.

Paul Roche 11-21-2024 05:12 PM

It does have the ISC stamps. I would appreciate any help you can give me regarding the chokes

If you would like to purchase the same style of choke tubes that were originally furnished with the SCC guns you should seek out Winchester Winchoke Type III (flush mounted) choke tubes and the wrench that's intended for them. The six choke tubes the SCC's originally came with were 2-SK, IC, M, IM and F. Additionally CYL and XF are also available.

Thank you so much.
