GB AHE 12ga Parker

Is anyone here the new owner of the AHE that finished up on Gun Broker?
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1057306182

Mills Morrison 07-13-2024 03:56 PM

Wow! Not me

Strong price considering the issues

Dan Steingraber 07-13-2024 04:09 PM

No, but I’d like to own an A grade.

Russ Jackson 07-13-2024 04:39 PM

I sent some questions on the gun the first day it posted but never received a reply from the seller ????? I don't know why when people list something 4 sale they don't respond to questions ! Geez ,all I wanted to know was the serial # !

I had the same issue with the seller, no response to my questions. I'm out if the seller is unresponsive. I think the serial number is 117435.

Chuck Bishop 07-13-2024 05:15 PM

I'll probably be getting a request for a letter soon!

edgarspencer 07-13-2024 05:50 PM

I especially liked the engraving on the bottom of the receiver. The inscription is intriguing. I agree, it was a lot for a gun with serious issues, but.....
I too inquired re: the SN and stock dimensions. Crickets. For the most part, the sellers other listings tells me he doesn't ordinarily deal in this level of gun.

edgarspencer 07-13-2024 06:01 PM

In searching for info on CA Winship, I found he was a wealthy land developer.
He must have liked Parkers, as he had a CHE, inscribed similarly, on the top rib.

I'm right there with you Craig ,No Reply No Buy !!!! In The Parker Story under A Grades the closest # I found was 117433 ??? You could sort of make out a part of it !

Goes along with my theory of why certain people wear dark sunglasses indoors at gun shows, flea markets or general auctions. Over the years I devolved my own theory about them:

1) They are incredibly hung over and don't want anyone to see their eyes
2) They know there will be people at the event that they don't want to see (e.g., owe them money or sold them a bad gun or other item)
3) They have outstanding warrants and know law enforcement will be there.

The best thing about having been in the business for 56 years is that they know that we know that they know who they are.

I love the trigger plate.

Jay Oliver 07-14-2024 10:20 AM

I wasn't following this one, but when I saw the link to the completed auction, I thought..."I would have liked to have had that one." It is tough with a non-responsive seller, given the dollar amounts.

A very worthy candidate for a restock and restoration work. I will find a an A grade at some point...

CraigThompson 07-15-2024 07:54 PM

Ah yes warms my heart two bull elk and two cows on the floor plate !

I wouldn’t restock that gun if Dudley or Patton thought they could dress up the crack a bit and make it usable .

Those were my thoughts, a good wood guy would make those cracks disappear.

It’s a shame it wasn’t a beautiful hammer gun, next I would have had to ask Edgar to spot me a loan:violin:

Think if the letter made no mention of removing the safety I’d have that straightened out as well .

Jim McKee 07-15-2024 08:56 PM

I could not see the serial number on the lower tang.
Does anyone know when it was made?
Hopefully, the buyer will order a letter from Chuck!

NO! The real big $$ is with the Southern Indiana Cartel! :corn:

I hear the SIC scored another coup on a B grade 12g Parker with a lot of special high end engraving. Maybe someone will bring it next week for Show & Tell?

Randy G Roberts 07-16-2024 12:25 PM

I do believe you fellas have the Northern and Southern chapters confused.

No I’m afraid not I used to have several $1000 and $500 notes they were worth about $25-40 each . Now the cents notes bring a good bit over face value . I had a bunch of South Carolina notes $.01 , .05 , .10 , .25 and .50 they brought well over face value of course .
