PGCA art print on ebay

Can they do this? Item # 276346716353

I don't know if they can sell this PGCA print, however if PGCA needed a fundraiser this would be a great idea. PGCA logo in back with over-lay of clients favorite dog(s). I'm sure they would have a long list of clients.

Unless the copyright has not expired they can do anything they want. There are hundreds of old Smith, Fox, Lefever, Remington and Winchester for sale all the time. Many are tin signs and many are paper. If they can't, Cornell Publications are in deep trouble.

The ad states if is brand new and an artwork reproduction. I didn't see anything that shows it came from PGCA, but if it did I would believe they have the right to sell it just like any other purchased art. The description indicates they are a commercial art company that reproduces these from vintage prints and have been doing it for 30 years.

Nice idea, just needs a Lab!

Or a Wirehair.

I don't know anything about the legality but I like it!

Or you could always re-do the 1927 Parker Catalog cover and put the "right" dog in for aesthetic reasons.:)

There isn't anything on that print that makes reference to the PGCA.

It’s a redo of the 1927 catalog cover. Nothing more.

One of my close pals is a renowned gun photographer and I once noticed his images being turned into fridge magnets and sold on ebay. I advised him of such as he doesn't have an online presence and isn't on ebay. I believe he "mentioned" to the seller that there would be some royalties involved if he continued down that road, and those images soon disappeared.

I'm sensing a sketch from a brother MFA here?

allen newell 03-25-2024 05:17 PM

It needs an English Setter

Bob Hayes 03-29-2024 04:19 PM

So I ordered one since it was only a few dollars. It came today and first thing I noticed was it's cut off on the right side. The border is cut out and looks as if it's a bad run or an accident.

allen newell 03-31-2024 01:29 PM

It just needs an English setter

William Woods 04-01-2024 05:52 PM

I had contacted this company a while back and inquired about having an English Setter instead of the pictured dog. I was told they could put any dog on the picture.
