Guyette and Deeter Auction February 10, 2024

The catalog appeared on my email today. I read the catalog cover to cover. What's wrong with me? I already own a shotgun.

Reggie Bishop 01-11-2024 03:39 PM

I was looking for a 34" 20 gauge single barrel trap in the catalogue. Nothing there. :crying:

John Albano 01-11-2024 04:07 PM

Looks like lots of nice guns. Nice job Josh!

Phil Yearout 01-11-2024 05:15 PM

I just read through the past two issues again yesterday !

Bill Murphy 01-11-2024 05:48 PM

Josh already has a date for the September auction.

We always say if you know how many you have, you don’t have enough!!!

Bill Murphy 01-13-2024 10:08 AM

Josh, any idea when the hard copies of the February catalog will be mailed?

Josh Loewensteiner 01-13-2024 04:01 PM

The catalogs will start mailing early this week.

Corey Barrette 01-22-2024 12:29 PM

Just received my copy this morning.
Enjoyed the eye candy with my lunch at noon as I pored through the catalog and dog-eared a couple.
Thanks Josh.

Russ Jackson 01-22-2024 03:29 PM

Haven't gotten mine yet. My mailman is a gun guy. I'm wondering...

Rick Roemer 01-22-2024 05:52 PM

Thank you for the catalog Josh. Very nice

The catalog made it to Arizona today. Another wonderful catalog listing many interesting items. That canoe is too cool! Thank you very much Josh.

Bill Jolliff 01-22-2024 11:43 PM

I got mine today. Fantastic production.

I see there are 4 Jim Sprankle decoys listed. I knew Jim when he lived in Conklin, NY and set up at the Clayton (NY) Decoy and Wildlife Art Show. I have 3 of his decoys - a Blue Wing Teal pair and a miniature Canvasback Drake that he gave me.

Thank you, Josh.

Reggie Bishop 01-23-2024 06:52 AM

Team Tennessee received a copy on Monday. Beautiful offerings! Thank you Josh!

Bill Murphy 01-23-2024 07:07 AM

I'm checking my mailperson for NRA and PGCA membership. Maybe he's a slow reader.

Catalog #8 is one of the nicest lifters I have ever seen. I hated to finish the case and return the gun. The writeup says it comes with Parker tools, but doesn't show them, so I thought it might be of interest to show them. The case top is a beautiful piece of feather crotch walnut.

John Albano 01-23-2024 08:54 AM

My catalog made it to Idaho yesterday. Thanks josh!

John Dallas 01-23-2024 08:56 AM

Bill - Have you seen Sprankle's spectacular decoy display on Sanibel Island? Hope they weren't destroyed in the Hurricane. His generosity has raised lots of money for the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge

keavin nelson 01-23-2024 02:13 PM

My catalog arrived this morning, Thanks Josh!

Garry L Gordon 01-23-2024 02:59 PM

Missouri must be on the outs with the USPS. Nothing here yet.

(Edgar, the case is stunning, as is the gun.)

I recieved my catalog today and skimmed through it at lunch.

I read the description today and ws surprised by one thing in the description. It states that the barrel flats are stamped with the grade and DD which means it has Parker made damascus barrels.

Somehow, I don't remember ever seeing this. I am well aware of the Parker made barrels and have a few of them. I have seen several (I own one) which have the Parker laminate barrels on D quality guns. There have been several discussions of the laminate barrels in the past couple of years, but I don't remember any mention that Parker made true Damascus pattern barrels in addition to the laminates. They were only made for 2-3 years. Did they actually make damascus pattern barrels in addition to the laminates, and were they marked DD, similar to the P stamp on the laminates?

Bill Murphy 01-23-2024 03:52 PM

Josh, got my catalog in MD today. Of course, I've already read it on the website. Thanks.

Dean Romig 01-23-2024 06:26 PM

No ArtS, they didn't.

The DD indicates Finest Damascus (which I believe is 5-iron crolle) but not all are stamped as such... most are though.

Thanks Dean. Now that you responded, I recall having read the DD reference before.
I was confident you would know when I posted.

Hope you are doing well after your accident.

James Rhodenizer 01-24-2024 03:09 PM

Got mine, thanks Josh. Actually had a couple of left handed shotguns. I'll call that a good start.

Ed Blake 01-24-2024 08:18 PM

I used to own the gun described on page 26 of the catalog. Great gun but I just couldn’t shoot it well. According to the PGCA letter the original owner was a Mr H. E. Anderson of Lancaster, PA. My research revealed Mr Anderson was a registered shooter, who was associated with the pigeon circuit in Pennsylvania and Maryland. By the time he ordered #103439 he was in his mid-60s and was not that competitive, but the news reports from the time show him in attendance at various shoots. I inferred from this that he was a shoot organizer or sponsor of sorts. The load he requested Parker tune the gun for was1 1/4 oz of #7s over 48 grains of Shultz powder, which coincidently is similar to a load prescribed for a Cashmore pigeon gun I own. Anyway,I hope whomever buys this gun enjoys it and shoots it better than I did.

Mike Koneski 01-24-2024 08:37 PM

Mine also arrived on Monday.

Hello Ed,
I also noticed that gun being ordered by H. E. Anderson in Lancaster, Pa. That is very close to where I was born and still live. I did a quick google search of that name and came up empty.
Thanks for sharing that info.
Stan

Thank you Josh for the catalog. This is no small expense.
I have both sold and purchased through this auction and have been very happy with the results.

Ed Blake 01-25-2024 07:50 AM

Yes. That’s the one.
