My Beautiful FrankenParker

I made a trade today for a cool gun that won't win any beauty contests but I loved it immediately for some reason. 12 gauge, 1 frame, CH fishtail top lever, completely silvered receiver (67946), beautiful piece of wood in a replacement stock with so/so wood to metal fit and a decent looking repair on the right cheek, beautifully engraved SSBP with a just okay fit and a really cool engraved grip cap. Lovely 28" Damascus barrels not numbered to the gun (137511) that fit pretty good and lock up tight. Chokes are .006 and .027. LOP 14 1/4, drops 1 1/2 and 2 3/8.

I knew you would be. It’s a good one too.

Love the wood figure. The barrels look like they weighed 3lbs 2oz before finishing. What does it weigh?

Ken

Right at 7lbs on the digital house scale.

Frankenparker? I'd call it a Sleeping Beauty! Great gun and happy for you!

Mike Poindexter 01-09-2024 12:30 AM

I like that gun a lot. Nice find.

Craig Larter 01-09-2024 04:33 AM

Very nice Dan and it makes you happy!

Dean H Hanson 01-09-2024 08:37 AM

The grip cap!!! AWESOME!

keavin nelson 01-09-2024 08:51 AM

I can see why you were smitten! Beautiful wood, great engraving, good dimensioins! Whats not to like.

George Lang 01-09-2024 08:56 AM

My kind of gun, nice find. Enjoy.

Dan Steingraber 01-09-2024 08:56 AM

Both serial #’s have records available. I guess I’ll need 2 letters. Per the serialization book, the receiver left the factory with 30” Bernard barrels (wow, that must have been an amazingly beautiful gun) and the barrels started life on a grade 2 gun.

Reggie Bishop 01-09-2024 09:00 AM

Nice! 12 gauge guns on a one frame are nice handling guns, especially with short barrels.

At 7lbs and .005 in the right barrel it might even get a chance at a grouse cover or 2.

Arthur Shaffer 01-09-2024 09:09 AM

I only own one 12 gauge on a 1 frame, but they really feel good. They seem more dynamic than the other frames. It's a shame the Bernard barrels are gone, but that engraving is beautiful!

Here's 65685 12ga #1 frame 30" but to fishtail, 7lbs 4oz. The engraving appears done by the same hand.

Joseph Sheerin 01-09-2024 10:16 AM

Not a big "engraving guy", but really like the engraving on this gun. Nicely done!

Bill Murphy 01-09-2024 11:20 AM

Please show us your PGCA letters. Wow, what a gun. The grip cap could indicate a show gun.

Brian Dudley 01-09-2024 12:28 PM

You show me yours and I will show you mine.

Letter that is…

Wow Craig. Beautiful as always. The engraving does look very similar. Your "antlered critter" is lacking the "smile" of mine though. :rotf::)
