Dickson 20 gauge
I finally received this gone from the importer. The gun came out of New Zealand. It’s a Dickson round action 20 gauge built in 1896 with 28” barrels. It weighs 5lbs 6oz. The stock extension is nice walnut but the figure doesn’t match up. Dickson only made around 30 20 gauges up until 1961.

Wonderful gun, congratulations!

Congratulation, Ken - incredibly rare and desirable gun, and in what looks to be the original maker's case. Current stock wizards here and available can blend the extensions' wood figure, grain and flow to the point where it will be unnoticeable. Go for it!

Kevin,
Yes it is the original case. I’m working with the last saddle shop in the Springs to see if he can make two straps and fix the handle. If that doesn’t work, I’ll give you a call. Ken |
Ken, I’d been wondering about your gun. Glad to learn you now have it in hand…in time to take a Kansas pheasant I hope. What a wonderful gun!

Ken,
There are, or were, gun case straps posted on eBay from England. Don’t remember the width but the length seemed suitable for a single gun case. Dickson’s are nice and this is a beauty. Enjoy, John |
Great, rare find Ken! Just a little jealous....

That stock extension is so harmonic, and perfectly fit, I'd leave it alone. Such workmanship is rare. And it's a part of the gun's history. Who knows. It may have been originally made up for a small Royal...

Kansas is getting a bit of snow this week! Hopefully, I’ll get out before the season ends. This was the last Kansas hunt in late December. It was about 60 and the dogs were beat so they weren’t overly happy about taking a picture. https://parkerguns.org/forums/pictur...ictureid=14745 Ken |

It was originally built for a George Massey Watson who eventually went to New Zealand. The gun was later in the UK and Dickson’s sold it to a person back in New Zealand. Ken |
