Double Gun Journal
I thought that the projected date for the 3rd reader was about Christmas of 2023. I wrote to Daniel and Joanna asking for an update, haven't heard back yet. Has anyone heard anything?

It was on their FB page that the publication of Vol 3 would be a couple of months later than projected because od illness. They will announce when it is published.

This is the post on Facebook. We should see a card in the mail in the next 2-3 weeks. I’m not sure what the last sentence implies. Hopefully, I’m reading more into it than Daniel is saying.
“To all DGJ faithful, I have had Shingles now for the past 3 weeks, so the Index 3 pre-publication order card can be expected to reach you within the next 2-3 weeks….all production work had to be held up. I had a hard case since I wasn’t diagnosed early and because of my age. The Index 3 book is more than 80% finished however and WILL be published as soon as we judge pre-publication response to the new products order card which all our final subscribers will receive within 2-3 weeks.” Ken |
Thanks for the update. Hope Daniel is feeling better soon. I'm not on Facebook, so I wouldn't have known.

Hi!
I sent an e-mail to them on Thursday evening. This the reply a short time ago. Jim: Hi. We are hoping to send the Index & Reader III by 3/1/24 & will notify you. Thank you, Heidi The Double Gun Journal |

Sounds iffy to me, I agree waiting to see how many they need to sell is not good. We will see.

Daniel is a man of his word. If he said he will, he will !

It's just me, but I think there will be more than enough people sign up for it to be a"GO!" on printing it. The first and second reader each covered 7 years for indexes and the extra stories were top notch. This next one will be covering 18 years and extra articles. I'm afraid it might be the size of one volume of The Parker Story.

I’d guess it’s not a question of “if” but rather an idea of “how many”.

I think you are spot on Phil ! If you weren't a Preprescriber of DGJ ,you wouldn't have a need nor an interest for this book and how many previous customers are even still interested ! They would have no idea and surely there is no point in printing a huge number of something that has such a limited interest !
|
And that’s exactly how the DGJ began to be more a labor of love for Daniel and Joanna… subscriptions to this fine magazine had begun to decline.

Yes Dean ,and what a shame ! There is less and less interested in what we have enjoyed so much over all of these years ! Double Guns ,Old Cars , Family !!!! You name it ,most of the younger generation have no idea what they are missing and sadly won't until it is all gone !!!!
