Grouse gun
5 Attachment(s)
Hi. I inherited a 1892 parker ph. According to the parker letter it was ordered by John lovell arms of boston. It has twist steel barrels length of 28 inches pistol grip weight 7 pounds.
I use this gun for grouse hunting using low powered shells by rst. The gun is great in the woods, points nice and not too heavy. My question is..would you hunt with it? I don't think it's rare and needs to stay in the case. Edit it is 12g |
By all means hunt with it using appropriate loads and care for it. It is in fine condition and should give you many more years of service it treated correctly. Good luck and happy hunting.

i hunt and shoot skeet, trap and sporting clays with mine its is choked .020 and .003 so a big yes!! :)

That was its intended purpose. They who made them made them to be used. The joy in these guns is found in there use, not as curios.

You should absolutely hunt with it❗️

I'd sleep with it too !

It is a great example. Lots of condition, but not too nice to hunt with.

You will find that as time goes by this very nice gun is like all Parkers and prefers to be close to others of it's own kind in a gun cabinet. Use and enjoy.

Nice PH. Hunt it.
I have a similar Ph, 1 frame with 26" twist barrels choked .012/.024. At 6-10 it is a great grouse gun with 78 oz loads. Enjoy |
Would I hunt with it? Send it to me and I’ll try it out :)
