Mr. Gordon did a beautiful job with his article, ' The Farm ' really loved it.

Nice cover shot on this issue thanks to Mr. Reed!

Mike Koneski 08-25-2023 08:54 AM

Garry's article on "The Farm" prompted an old time member of the PGCA to contact us regarding the current state of that property and future plans for it. You never know what responses your articles will bring us. As a friend of mine used to say, "Good, good, good!!"

Gary Carmichael Sr 08-25-2023 06:06 PM

Garry, "The Farm" was a great article! A man , his dogs and a special place, Gary

A special thanks to Mike Koneski for putting my first grouse on the cover. What a treat to be reminded of such an awesome hunt last fall.

We've been traveling and just picked up our mail that included the latest edition. (Thanks, Mark and Gary, for your positive response (and, Gary, I hope all is still good with you and your pup)).

I enjoyed the range of articles -- writing like that of Mills and John that teaches me something, to heartfelt personal accounts of place (Mr. Bishop's piece for example)...and who doesn't like reading about a young shooter's first bird with a Parker. Thanks to all who took time to share their writing with us and to Mike and Sammy for making it happen.

Thanks to David Penland for your article "Legacy Revived"! I'm especially impressed since I had a chance to see the result of your efforts to revitalize my old lifter sn 23089. Needless to say, it cleaned up real NICE! The barrels were most impressive showing the double DD quality. The stock work and checkering is equally nice. In my opinion, your restoration has retained the right amount of old patina of the locks and frame and the spirit of gun. I hope it balances and shoots as good as it looks. It is a handsome piece! I hope to see it in person someday. Jerry

I’ve perused the entire magazine , but I’ve only actually read one article so far Mr. Morrison’s article on Grade 2 hammerless guns which I enjoyed immensely . But I’ll get around to the rest , most likely today when I get tired of watching old westerns

Great job all the articles were well done, thanks. Mills article about GH guns it was very informative, every Parker collector should own at least one grade 2. Garry's article The Farm hit home for me you put into words the way many of us feel about the wonderful world of vintage guns, bird dogs, birds and that special place where it all comes together. Well done!

I read the fall issue cover to cover when I received it yesterday. I echo the positive comments made by others regarding the articles and photos. Thanks to all involved.
