ID Help. Two Parker shotguns

My Minister of 14 years inherited two Parker shotguns I would like to have some help identifying them for him and getting an approximate value. I have many good close up photos.

Welcome John, post those pictures and there are a number of very knowledgeable members that will reach out and help you identify them.

Thank you for your reply. In order to prevent confusion with the photos, I will post the images of the guns on different posts. This is the photos of the 30" 12 gauge 1894 gun.

Grade 1, or PH with twist steel barrels.
Didnt look too bad until the picture of the bores. Have you tried cleaning them up?

Dean Romig 03-26-2023 08:34 PM

It has been restocked as well.

The serial number indicates about 1893 or so.

I've tried cleaning with Hoppe's No. 9 bore cleaner with both a brass brush and a cloth swab. I was not overly aggressive, but I believe it needs a professional polishing. It also has a couple of dents that need repairing. Overall the gun looks good for the age.

The gun is in pretty poor condition. Restocked, heavily patinated, off face and with badly dented/pitted bores. The gun realistically has the most value as parts.

V grade 1 1/2 frame, began life circa 1916 as a capped pistol gripped 28" 12g. Stock has been repaired. Average quality gun at best but not much better than the first one. These barrels are dinged up too.

John L Jackson 03-28-2023 09:08 AM

I spoke with my Minister yesterday, and he just wants to find a home for these two guns to someone that understands the condition. Does anyone have a suggestion?
