Thoughts on this BTFE....
Original?? Many thanks for the input. Thanks, Bobby |
No, too crude.
|
I’d like to see more pictures.
|
Never. There are a lot of clues to support that.

Not original IMO. Here is a correct B, of course there will be variables.
|
I would upload more pictures when I can. Thanks all for the input.
Sorry, Brian, I am confused by your response. Are you saying that could never be a Parker BTFE? I am skeptical on the originality of the BTFE in question, hence my post here. I don't think it is original, but I am not very experienced when it comes to early BTFE's. The gun originally had a BTFE, it is a Trap Grade gun, and has the reinforced forend loop. I appreciate the help. Thank you, Bobby |
Yes. I am saying that forend would not be original. Never any chance. It does not even appear that the gun was originally a btfe gun. Just a splinter gun that the currebt wood was put on.

What’s the serial number?
|
The Serial # is 191170.
I will send pics of the gun, and the forend loop. Thanks, Bobby |

Bobby, does it have the reinforced forend lug like this?

Hi John, Yes it does. I am familiar with that forend loop, as I mentioned in a previous post. I will send pictures as soon as I can tonight. Oh, and I did shoot it yesterday and it was a pleasure to shoot. It's a grinder for sure.............I am hoping it is my new doubles gun. Thanks, Bobby |

Doubles gun, now you've really got my attention. Please give the specifics on this Parker. And looking forward to more pics. |

Very Nice Bobby, very nice!
Unfortunately I can't help determine the originallity of your B Grade forend but thanks for sharing the pics. Stan |
So why are we questioning the originality of the forend? The checkering? Or the shape?
The checkering is questionable but I’m not really seeing a problem with the shape of the forend. Definitely different from my CHE but looks about the same as my GHE. Unfortunately she’s currently away from home, so I really can’t compare. I’m certainly not an expert but I would need more pictures of your forend from several different angles before I could even begin to pass judgement. |
It certainly helps when asking about something that more than a single photo is included with the question. That way more informed opinions can be formulated.

How these components get separated from their guns , I don’t know.
|
Wow Bruce. That's a beauty!! Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it. Thanks, Bobby |
Those are all just beautiful looking Parker’s , they sure make junk shotguns today compare to the old days
|
I bought three beavertail forends on Gunbroker about 15 years ago. Two were C grade 1 1/2 frame forends and the third was from a B or higher .410 - yes indeed Bruce, how do they ever become separated from the guns they were shipped with??
