30th Anniversary Issue of Parker Pages!

What a great issue with a diversity of articles. I'm glad it's raining today so I don't feel guilty sitting inside to read.

Thanks to our excellent editors and talented contributors!

Dean Romig 02-22-2023 09:07 AM

I'm anxiously awaiting my copy - Please Mister Postman look and see is there a copy in your bag for me?! (...oops, I'm showing my age!)

Parker Pages

I was surprised to find my copy in the mailbox last evening, I never receive mine before you guys are all finished reading yours.

Looks like another good one, although I didn't have enough time to do more than briefly look through it.

Stan

Our box of editors copies arrived Monday and the membership issues arrived Tuesday! So unusual for the USPS.

JAMES HALL 02-22-2023 10:22 AM

I have received the over run box and then received my and Benjamin's personal issues 30 days later. I think they rotate alphabetically as who are mailed first. Just my guess. Ben watching it for a long time.

JAMES HALL 02-22-2023 10:49 AM

The over run copies also arrived. I have waited 30 days for my and Benjamin's to show. I think they rotate alphabetically on who's go first. Ben watching this a long time.

I dunno I worked in the magazine printing/mailing industry for a number of years , and a 3,000 mailing would normally be sent all at once . You may be correct , but from past experience I don’t see that happening . Now how it’s handled at the initial USPS bulk mail centers it hits are another matter that’s totally foreign to me anylonger .

Dean Romig 02-23-2023 03:13 PM

Parker Pages is sent from Village Press to the USPO in one shipment, What happens after that is all done, or not done, by the US Postal Service.

Mine arrived in NY's southern tier yesterday. Haven't had time to read it yet.

John Albano 02-23-2023 03:34 PM

David brace yourself-it made it to Idaho today. I am looking forward to reading it.

Dave Noreen 02-23-2023 03:41 PM

No birthday present in my box today.

Dean Romig 02-23-2023 03:47 PM

Well praise be... Mine arrived in today's mail! The US Postal Service has redeemed itself!

I must be “livin’ right.” I usually get mine long after everyone else. It’s another great issue. The history of the publication reminds me of the dedication our colleagues. Thanks to them all!

I could live to be 120 and get all my mail two days early for the rest of my life and as far as I’m concerned the USPS will not have done enough to redeem themselves for all the clusterfucs that occurred with just my mail in the last four years .

Craig,
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Mine arrived today sitting on a cement bench on my porch delivered by a neighbor with the rest of my mail after being deposited in their mailbox by USPS. It is a really good issue though!!

Reggie Bishop 02-24-2023 10:22 AM

Received my copy on Wednesday. Art Wheaton's article about Gene Hill was very well done. I enjoyed it.

My Copy of PP spring issue arrived in my box 2-22-23 in Medford OR in great condition. I was happily surprised ! A big Thank You ! to all the contributors and all the folks who make the Parker Pages the fine publication that we have the privilege of reading. Best Paul

MattHaney 02-24-2023 02:15 PM

Congratulations to the PP and the whole club! Thank you Mike and Sam for a great 30th anniversary issue.

Garry L Gordon 02-24-2023 03:30 PM

I think sometimes we take John Davis' wonderful column too much for granted because it is so steadfastly produced for every issue. I thoroughly enjoy the history he presents. In the current issue, I found the entries for Charles Parker's death and the comments regarding Wilbur, Sr. quite interesting. I've always had high regard for Wilbur, Sr. and feel a wider audience would know his name were it not for his untimely death.

Garry, not only that, but the "photos" of the shooters shows us all how a mustache is meant to be worn!

Dean Romig 02-24-2023 04:50 PM

I rue the day when John Davis runs out of material for his wonderful historic column, Parkers in Pulp.

He has a few more years worth of PULP until he runs out of material.

Dave Noreen 02-25-2023 06:02 PM

The USPS mule must have threw a shoe between Albano's and here as it still wasn't in my P.O. Box today.

Dave Tatman 02-25-2023 08:20 PM

No sign of it here in NE OH yet, either.... :banghead:

Dave

I'm suprised Dave. I received mine at my office in Toledo on Tuesday I believe.

Dan Steingraber 02-26-2023 12:10 PM

What a wonderful issue. As I read these treasures I'm constantly reminded what a incredibley knowlegable and talented group we have. I feel fortunate that there's not a test for membership lest I be found woefully lacking.

John Albano 02-26-2023 06:11 PM

Dave, We can try for Monday. I hope you had a great birthday. John

Dave Tatman 02-27-2023 08:35 AM

I'm happy to report that my 30th Anniversary Parker Pages issue finally found its way to my reading stand yesterday, after languishing for who knows how long in the wrong mailbox..... :banghead:

I look forward to spending time with it this evening, along with a small glass of brown water.....

Dave

Mike Koneski 02-27-2023 11:25 AM

Dave, by "brown water" I hope you're referring to coffee? I wouldn't want to contribute to anyone's delinquency. :rotf:

Dave Tatman 02-27-2023 11:34 AM

I think I passed the "delinquency" stage a few years ago of Kentucky living .....

Dave

Dean Romig 02-27-2023 11:46 AM

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:It’s called “amber fluid”

Dave Noreen 02-27-2023 05:44 PM

Made it to my PO Box today. Looks like some good reading!!

Marty Kohler 02-27-2023 09:36 PM
