New D grade

Well I bought this one on a hope and a prayer. Pictures bad waited 10 days after sending the check (gun was not bought off the internetbut by referal) getting worried no email until last Sat when he sent the gun. So it is a 12 ga DH damascus number 3 frame, all original with about 3" of drop to SSBP, wood and checkering in good shape. The barrels show most of their damascus pattern which surpised me since the receiver is mostly silver and the engraving on the receiver is light. Bores are excellent and oh forgot to say the barrels are 34" (one of four). Besides the receiver I am a very happy camper :) Sometimes it is worth it to take a shot. Eric

How about that. Are you sure those barrels aren't cut? Let us know about the provenance when you get the letter.

We need pictures. Please don't tell me it has a straight grip.

Will she be in attendance at the Southern?

Sounds like a nice one. We were just discussing a #3 frame 34" gun this past weekend. Great find.
Weight?
Unstruck barrel weight?

Thank you

Eric Eis 03-14-2011 12:39 PM

No Ed it doesn't have a straight grip (wish it did) and I wish the engraving was a little sharper but hey, "It is what it is".

Bill I plan on asking Mark about this gun. The guy I bought it from got it as a gift from his wife (ex) about 10 years ago at a gun shop. The gentleman brought it in for a trade on a 22 for his grandson (wonder if they went even up or he had to pay some cash for that 22 :) ) and said that it was his grandfathers gun and he had special ordered it. The person I bought it from thought the special order was for the drop in the stock and I told him i thought it was more then likely it was for the length of the barrels. Eric

Ed tried to upload photos didn't work, they were from an email then saved on my computer, not sure what I am doing wrong:cuss:

Eric, try opening the saved picture then right click on it and "save as" another copy of it, then try uploading that one. Seems to work for me for some strange reason when I run into similar trouble.

Bill, all I know is the guy I bought it from (Don) his wife bought it for him about ten years ago at a gunshop. The owner of the shop said a gentleman brought the gun in to trade on a 22 for his grandson (wonder what the shop allowed him on trade ) Anyway he said that his grandfather had ordered the gun from Parker. I am hoping that Mark C can find out something on the gun because those 34" barrels are pretty unusal. That's all I can tell you now. Eric
