Now I know that everyone wants the 0 frame 16's and this one here isn't an 0 frame and we realize that this gun might not warrant much attention in this tough crowd, but here it is. On the good side, it has 32" barrels.

If that is a Grade 6 it is the finest Grade 6 I've seen and I've seen some fabulous 6's

What does the letter say about the engraving?

Dave Noreen 03-13-2011 04:48 PM

Marvelous gun!!! That Setter on the right side has certainly spent too much time at the food bowl!!

Oh,.... I just made a mess.

Bill Murphy 03-13-2011 06:48 PM

Bruce, I missed the pointer. Can I take back my "Thanks"? Oh, I forgot. Eva is a pointer, my first pointer in forty years. I am a setter guy, until Eva.

Rich Anderson 03-13-2011 06:57 PM

Stunning, just stunning.

Here ya go Bill; feel better now?

Bill Murphy 03-14-2011 07:51 AM

Actually, at 65 years old, and a setter person since I was three years old, I am through. My Wirehair, Eva, will be followed by more Wirehairs until I am gone.

Bruce,
Funny you should post that one. Yesterday I was looking at the two part article on grade 6 guns in DGJ from a couple of years ago and was admiring that very gun. What a coincidence to have it show up again right here.

Bruce Day 03-14-2011 02:35 PM

Larry, there are some fabulous Parkers, and I appreciate the dog, bird, deer or other animal artistry on Parkers much more than the rose and scroll only engraving that is on most British guns. There is much variation in engraving in the high grades and that is part of the enjoyment of collecting Parkers. There is enough variation to suit individual likes, for example, some people are taken with the deep relief engraving , others prefer the finer line, less deep type.
