Another what is it worth thread

I picked up a GH 12ga at the local gun show last weekend. I am usually pretty hesitant to buy a Parker without trying to research it beforehand, but here we are anyhow.
What caught my eye was the condition of the case colors. They look original to me, but I am no expert. I do question the finish on the wood.
I appreciate your thoughts on this.
It has 30" barrels with very nice blueing, with the the exception of some wear at the muzzles. One barrel has a very small ding in it.
The bores are bright with no rust or pitting and ring very nice.
Lockup is very tight with the lever right of center.

You purchased a GH not a DH

Tim Adams 01-21-2023 12:15 PM

You are correct. I corrected my post.

Very nice. Sure I won't look that good at 95!!

Keith Doty 01-21-2023 01:14 PM

Nice gun! Congrats.

Brian Dudley 01-21-2023 01:32 PM

The gun is worth what you paid for it, I guess.

And, this isnt a gun appraisal site.

It looks like a good honest gun. I would like to see one like that at a local gun show.

It's not a GH it's a GHE and a nice one too!! It even has the original finish on the wood.

No buggered screws or anything else that would detract from it. Congrats!!

Mr. Dudley, I apologize. I didn't realize it was wrong to ask values. I am just trying to learn more.

Dean, how do you tell the difference between extractors and ejectors?

Steve Huffman 01-21-2023 06:15 PM

Im going to try and learn something since I don't have any ejector guns but should both pins stick out the frame at the same time when barrels are off. the left pin is not visible on this frame . Tim ejector guns have a different internal forend and also the ejectors / extractors will be split at the breach.

Looks like a great gun to me.

Bob Jurewicz 01-21-2023 07:53 PM

Steve.
Good eye!
It does look like one pin may be stuck. If still there and unbroken should be easy fix with some lube.

Which picture are you looking at showing the firing pins? I don’t see them in any picture.

In your 5th picture showing the barrel flats there is no extractor stop screw in the middle of the lug and the ejector rods are split while if it were an extractor gun the extractor rod would be one piece with no split.

I see nothing going on with the firing pins that people are talking about. When the gun is cocked, the pins are not visible as they are part of the hammers. I think what some are seeing is a reflection off the surface the gun is sitting on.

Steve Huffman 01-22-2023 03:35 AM

I never said firing pins Mike was the one that has misread my post. I ask about the left ejector pin Not sticking out of the frame when barrels are off. Bob answered my post.

That pin you see is the unhooking slide pin. There is only one on the right side of the gun.

The ejector trips would not be visible from that angle at the bottom of the gun.

Nice GHE

And I thought I found a nice GHE. This one is much nicer with much higher condition. I especially like the style of G engraving on this one and the crispness and sharpness of the engraving. It certainly has not had too much handling and use. Beautiful find.
