From time to time we see a VH with an extra flourish or two/
https://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=32536 Perhaps on the OP's gun the engraver screwed up the doing the Parker Bros. in the normal location between the screws and did the scrolls to cover that up? Attachment 111929 Attachment 111930 Attachment 111931 |
Nice. I recently saw a 1/2 frame remington VHE with extra engraving on the middle of the trigger plate.
This one that you have Mark is the most “embellishment” on a V grade that I have seen. |
Originally could have been a requested unmarked gun that someone had marked up.

That’s certainly a keeper Mark!
I have pics of a VH with flying pheasants on the sides which, though not supported by factory records, look exactly like the ones we see on early GH and higher Parkers. The scroll however does not resemble that of known Parker grades. . |

It's late on a Friday afternoon and the engravers just didn't want to start on another gun....
|
Brian’s pic looks a bit “home-made” compared to Mark’s.

Pics added to my previous post.

The birds on that gun are the only thing that look like they could have been done in the factory. The other additional engraving is of various other mixed styles. |
