Ejector repair question
I have a 1924 DHE 2 barrel set that the ejectors have been disabled. I have removed the forend iron from both barrels 30” and 28” after further investigation it appears that all the part minus the two main springs for the 28” set are present. The 30” set seems to be more complicated, the main springs are missing, right side ejector hammer is broken and it someone at one point welded the ejectors together (they did a decent job but of course they are ruined). How Feasible is to be able to get these ejectors operational again?? I know ejectors can be finicky and some folks don’t like them but the gun is a beautiful 2 barrel set DHE that I have the original hand tags, catalog, and leather case. I’m a traditionalist and would like the gun to function how it was made (and yes I use this gun often it handles and shoots great) thanks for any information yiu fine folks my have.

Call Turnbull Restorations or Del Greco. Last ejector work I had done by Turnbull.

Ejector repair Question
I have not had any repair work done by Turnbull which firm has a stellar reputation but I have used the services of DelGrego on more than a few occasions. They have never let me down on small and large projects. Because of the history and reputation of the DelGrego firm and the fact that they specialize, for the most part, in the repair of Parkers, I think you would be safe in employing their services to handle your project(s). I feel confident they will have all the parts you need to make your Parker whole again. Good luck.

Thank you for the tips. I will contact both outfits and see where it takes me. The next worry is how to box up and ship the gun across the country.

Christopher:
There has been a lot of discussion about shipping on this forum. Here are a few threads: https://parkerguns.org/forums/showth...t=shipping+gun https://parkerguns.org/forums/showth...t=shipping+gun https://parkerguns.org/forums/showth...t=shipping+gun |
Christopher, you can't go wrong using DelGrego, Turnbull or Brian Dudley

Hello Chris , years ago I bought a CHE Grade off of GB and when it arrived it had a broken ejector as in broken into two pieces ! I ended up trying to have it welded by one of our members ,it was discussed it may break again but we tried anyway ,and it did shortly thereafter so I contacted Larry DelGrego " 315-894-8754 " , he had the parts and repaired the gun and it functioned perfectly ! I have never dealt with Doug Turnbull but I have dealt with Larry a few times and would recommend him ! I usually have Brian Dudley do what's needed but he has already posted he doesn't want ejector work ! I just sent Brian a gun a few days ago for some work and shipped USPS without any problems ! Good Luck with your repairs !

I have been making ejector hammers and parts for Parkers for years. I can do the ejector repairs that you need.

I'm pretty familiar and competent with Fox ejectors and almost two years ago I bought a straight grip Parker with known non-functioning ejectors, thinking I’d learn and fix them myself. And learn I did. In spades! It took some time to really understand the Parker mechanism that's far more complex than the Fox Russel Patent ejectors; and after finding some parts and making others, then fitting them, I got the ejectors fully functional ..... now to the tune of some 1600 shots and still counting. Timing of the kicks are still as I set them. Done deal.
OK, with all that said I've discussed Parker ejector repairs with Lou while at SxS events and with my knowledge base I confirmed he knows the mechanism intricacies and wasn’t “blowing smoke”. Also while at Hausmann's earlier this year Lou showed me a box of ejector hammers he'd machined along with other parts and ready for fitting. Again, I learned and did those repairs myself and never had Lou do any work on Parker ejectors but if I could roll the calendar back two years I would have sent that straight grip Parker to him. All this just my take on the posts here. |
I wouldn't recommend Lou. He does great work but if y'all send your stuff to him he won't have time to do mine !!!! :rotf::rotf::nono:

Frank took the words out of my mouth. Lou recently repaired a Lefever cocking problem for me and I couldn't recommend him more highly.

I appreciate the endorsements given here, Thank You Mike Daryl and Frank
