Ithaca and Lefever Gun Club Jacket Patches.....
I've had several different guys ask if I was going to do a Lefever or Ithaca Club jacket patch. The Lefever Collectors website seems to get zero traffic and there isn't a collectors group for Ithaca other than a FaceBook page (at least that I'm aware of). So I thought I'd make a general inquiry on here and see who was interested. I've got two Lefever and three Ithaca on the list so far. To make doing a new one really worthwhile I need at least 20 orders. Be similar in price range to the others I've done.

Destry,
I would definitely buy some Ithaca patches, I don't believe Ithaca has near the following as some of these already established organizations, but I would be thrilled if there was an Ithaca forum or if someone cared to form an Ithaca Double Gun Collectors organization. Meanwhile, I'll try to not wear out my welcome babbling about Ithaca Guns:) Stan |
Closest there is is the Ithaca Forum on Shotgunworld.com --
https://www.shotgunworld.com/forums/ithaca-shotguns.59/ Walter Snyder has been the moderator there since 2009, but I haven't seen any postings from Walter lately. |
There's a couple fairly active pages on Facebook, I'm weirdly a moderator on one, though I don't own an Ithaca gun.
|
Are we talking a large patch or a small one?
|
Count me in personally for one Ithaca patch no matter if they are large or small. When you report back as to your intentions on the size I can approach some of my gun club boys and I would suspect they might take a few more. Thanks much.
|
I'm planning on doing a large one for these if I get enough interest.
My next small patch is going to be Fox when I get around to it. |
Ithaca
Thanks for the link Dave,
I had not checked over there in awhile, might be more double gun things than I had seen before or either I was never on the right page. I look forward to what an Ithaca patch might look like, Stan |
Do you have a picture of them ?
|
They aren't designed yet, I don't want to go to all that work and expense if there isn't enough interest to actually manufacture them. You've seen the other three I've done yes? Along those lines, using a design out of vintage advertising for the company.
|
Count me in for one of each Destry.
|
I would be down for a Lefever patch.
|
One of each for me Destry.
|
yes, put me down for a lefever
|
One of each for me also Destry.

One of each Destry

The Lefever Arms Collectors Association would be willing to guarantee a buy of a minimum of 20 patches assuming the design is appropriate.
|
Dr. Bob,
I've sent you a private message, if that order works out then Lefever is assured. Destry |
Destry,
Put me down for one of each. Thank you!!! |
Apparently the Lefever Collectors weren't quite up to speed on the pricing and can't guarantee a 20 piece purchase. So keep those names coming on Lefever orders.
|
Destroy, I’d buy two of the big Lefever patches. If you need a design I did make a decal for LACA and those images are on the PGCA and LACA sites.

Here's all I've found for Lefever that might be patch appropriate. Either the right hand duck or the setter with sharptail. What do you all think?

This is the most commonly seen piece of Lefever advertising Art.
Attachment 109928 And this GI listing for a large lot of advertising may draw some inspiration. https://www.gunsinternational.com/gu...n_id=101524142 Unfortunately, game is rarely the sole subject of Lefever advertising. Usually it was the factory, or the gun itself. |
Yeah I'm well aware, and it's wayyyyy too detailed for this project. To get that to look right the patches would be two feet tall and $500.

I just hate to do another dog with grouse since I did one so similar for LC Smith.

As I mentioned, I'm only using vintage advertising from the company, if I don't use something like that I'll likely not make the patch. Generating new art is expensive and time consuming. If you knew how much time making these involves for me you'd wonder why I bother, gotta keep it as simple as I can.
If you don't like the Lefever art I've found feel free to go to work and locate something better. I'm always up for help, hence my posting asking if anybody had anything. I've probably spent two hours on Google searching already and an hour on the phone with my patch ladies running stuff by them. |

An Ithaca patch utilizing some of the Cross Fox artwork would be badass. And I would certainly purchase one of those. That artwork was just striking!

I have suggestion for the Ithaca patch:rotf:
|
I count ten guns from Fall Creek in the gun room, so I'd be down for an Ithaca patch.
|
Count me in for one of each or one or the other however it works out.
Thanks, Mark |
Or something with the Eagle, often used on the bottom of graded Ithaca guns could be interesting.
|
I am good for 2 Ithaca and 2 lefever
|
One of each for me, have to keep the collection going.
