Seller's Remorse

I've lost the name and contact information for the PGCA Member who bought Lifter no. 24243 , a 16 gauge grade 0 or 1, I don't remember which, with Twist barrels cut back to 24 inches, from me.

I have a severe case of seller's remorse, don't know whatever possessed me to sell it in the first place.... And I want to buy it back - at a premium of course.
If you're ready to let it go please contact me. Even if you're not ready, please contact me. I honestly have no idea why I ever sold it.

My cell # is 978-621-9338 and you can text me on this number.
Also email me at dsromig@aol.com if you prefer.

Good luck! I remember that gun well

edgarspencer 05-31-2022 10:55 AM

I was the one who uncovered it first time around, and if you have remorse, guess how I feel.

Dean Romig 05-31-2022 11:00 AM

I feel truly sorry for you Edgar.

If the current owner is willing to let it go I'll double what he paid me for it.

Edgar, please don't try to trump my offer, this ain't no auction, just an honest plea.

Best of luck Dean. Do you care to elaborate why you have suddenly experienced this sentimental urge for this particular one? It’s quite understandable, considering I’ve bought guns just because I felt they needed cleaning.

Dean Romig 05-31-2022 11:55 AM

I simply had so much fun with that gun I’d really like to experience it all over again.

I know it is said “you can never go home and expect it to be the same.” but making new good times and memories with it is a real force within me for the past couple of years.

The one with the woodcock?

Dean Romig 05-31-2022 01:55 PM

On the trigger guard bow by Geoffroy Gournet?

Yep, that's the one.

It didn’t have that cute little bird on the trigger guard when I had it. Some people just can’t leave things alone.

Has nothing to do with the gun , but last year at the first banquet I ever attended I was fortunate enough to meet and talk a good bit with Mr. Gournet !

Another view . . . pre-Woodcock

Dean, good luck on your search. I remember when you posted it for sale and by the time I thought I "needed" that sweet 16 lifter it was sold.

I did get back a gun I sold once so there is always hope.

scott kittredge 06-01-2022 07:54 AM

Any luck:corn:

I almost think Geoffroy could engrave those Woodcock with his eyes closed.

PS. He has done one very nice upgrade for me and will be tackling a trashed Fox CE 20 gauge as soon as its ready. Really good guy.

Mike Koneski 06-01-2022 11:12 AM

Dean, did you look through your PMs to find your conversations with the buyer?

Dean Romig 06-04-2022 03:11 PM

Oddly, and because of my negligence, Scott Kittredge looked way back in my posts and found the name of the gentleman who bought it.

I have contacted him but have not received a reply yet.

Keep us posted . . . hope it works out

Dean Romig 06-07-2022 11:38 AM

He has replied very graciously that he's not ready to let it go but assured me that if/when he does it will come back this way.

I went through this same thing after buying my 6#10oz #1-frame damascus 26" GHE12 gun from a member. He begged to buy it back. Didn't work. It's a stunning grouse/woodcock/chukar gun over pointiing dogs in hvy cover. Of all the Parkers I've owned it is v near if not at the top as a favorite for the hunting I generally do. I bought another gun for that kind of hunting that is also a favorite but which I would part with - a 24" PHE16 that I paid way too much for. It sure is good in hvy cover and doesn't blow birds to smithereens. I hope you get your gun back Dean. This would be a good time for you to have it back.... "comfort food" as it were.....

Dean Romig 06-09-2022 10:08 PM

Thanks for your kind thoughts and words Richard.

Dean,
Not a lot of responses but if truth be told and more of us would admit it, a lot of us hate to admit the one we sold that never should have left our hands. I hope you get that gun back one day, and maybe you can't go home again but you can sure build some more good times once a special piece returns home.

Richard Flanders 06-12-2022 06:37 AM

If I were the one who bought that gun from Dean, it would be on it's way south as we speak, with no premium required.

Dean Romig 06-12-2022 11:42 AM

I don't mind a premium. In an earlier post on this thread I had already offered to pay double the amount he paid me.

.

Bill Murphy 06-12-2022 11:46 AM

I would pay double or more for my VH 32" 20 gauge, #153,333. Sold at Allentown show, several years ago.
