Rem SP10 or PT 1044 Wads for 10ga Wanted

Hi,

If anyone has any 10ga wads they are willing to part with, please let me know. Specifically the Remington SP10 or the PT 1044. If you're going to be at Hausmann's next week even better!

Thanks,

Mike

Frank just sold 6 bags of the SP10 on this site last week.

And Frank doesn’t have any more for sale. Sorry Mike.

Drats! Missed it by that much! Oh well, the search will continue, but looking forward to seeing you fellas next week at Hausmann's!

Did I hear correctly some time ago that Remington discontinued these wads? If that is the case it leaves the PT 1044 as the only lead use wad to feed our short 10's? Hope this is misinformation.

Word I got was the folks that own the Remington name for ammo/components would eventually start manufacturing the SP-10 wad again but on the negative side I was told they would not resume making the SP-8 wad .

I've seen steel wads shortened in a hull trimmer and used I suppose you could put a fiber wad in the bottom for cushion.

I received a new catalog from BP today they state that they have purchased PT wads and the wads are being molded by Claybuster. They say the PT 1044 will be available shortly.

I think I need four or five bags of the PT-1044’s .

Mike,I just ended up with 100 10 ga. wads in a swappy-tradey deal. Pristine condition but I'm sure they are 1970s vintage due to the source. I have no idea what they are other than they are NOT non-toxic type. I'll measure and post a pic of them. Yours for postage if you can use them.

They were originally made by HelarcoUs, and went out of business. SPE Plastic Denmark took over the production.

Ballistic Products purchased the molds from SPE Plastic Denmark. Claybuster buster will be making the wads.

I just bought 3 bags from a person on Gunbroker. Apparently they have more because they said to contact them if I wanted any more. $18.00 a bag and $12.00 shipping.

That was the SP-10 or the PT-1044 ?

They were SP-10 wads. I had her check them to make sure they weren't brittle and they are very good.
