RIAC Preview Day
Stopped in at the RIAC Preview Day heading home from a trout fishing trip to SE MN. Checked out the long barreled Parkers and gained greater respect for you 8 bore shooters  after swinging one of those monsters. Lots to see, but nothing I could not live without. Anyone else attending?
It’ll be interesting to see what those long barreled guns go for… |
Stan Hoover and I should arrive there tomorrow early afternoon. Neither of us have attended in person previously so we're going to take in the experience just to see what it's like. We might toss in a bid or two. Check your email when you get a chance Garry, sent you one this morning. Thanks!

My prediction is that all those long barrel things will end up in Indiana.

Nothing there that piques my interest this time. I will just listen to all the stories that you guys tell.

Actually I only have my eye on 1 and I'm not sure how serious I am about it as it stands right now. |

Will be interesting to see how the final bids match up to the estimates. I am kinda in a small bore shorter barrel mode now so will just be observing
|
Good luck to Randy and Stan if you decide to bid. I like the 12ga Grade 1 TL hammer gun with 30 Laminate barrels. I placed an absentee bid for a Winchester-----fingers crossed.
|
That grade 1 gun was very nice. It had a not so well repaired crack in the forepiece. Looked to be an easy correction, though. It’s a nice gun.

A couple of them had lots of “patina.” It will be a case study in rarity and condition.
|
The 12 gauge 40 incher is intriguing. I would have to see and handle them in person to see which one fit the best. I would not be buying them to display or keep in the safe

So the bug has bitten Stan in a big way!! :rotf: Randy, don't lead him astray, keep him focused on those lifters.

Most people would say I’ve been lead astray a good while back, I think Randy offered to help to curb my affliction :p |
Shopping for Parkers means you are moving away from the dark side. :rotf:

[QUOTE=CraigThompson;363640]I have a sneaking suspicion there might be one or two nice ones from the dark side at this auction [/QUOTE
Craig, just say NO to Eurotrash and friends don't let friends shoot Foxes!!:rotf: One must stay focused. No different than shooting. |
Hey now Mike,
You’ve got to understand, a man needs to stay within his budget, I’m sorry, I know you wouldn’t understand:cool: Stan |
yes those long barrels belong in a duck blind....chsrlie

Jesus Mary and Joeseph !
$32,500 hammer price for a Remington 870 that was USMC issued in Vietnam . With the premium thats atleast 37K  |

But THE LAST won't leave but rather go in the box with me at the end . My grandfathers W&C Scott crystal indicater 10 gauge will be in the box in the cemetary with me for eternity or until some SOB digs me up and takes the old gun :cuss: |

Hmmmm a RI/Underwood M2 Carbine for 11K I wouldn't mind having that
|
Ahhh the 8 gauge hammered at $27,500 plus premium
My opinion was certainly incorrect ! |
Hmmm Ithaca Grade 5 Flues 10 gauge was reasonable !
I bet that ends up in PA  |

The 28 gauge skeet brought a pile as well “I thought”
|
It was an $8K gun with 36" barrels in my opinion, the extra 4 inches added $20K to the hammer price. Amazing.
