Just made my reservations at the Candlewood. Hope to see a lot of you there!

CraigThompson 03-27-2022 03:33 AM

Is Candlewood the place we stayed last year ? One you had to take the guns thru the lobby on a baggage cart ?

Brian Hornacek 03-27-2022 08:32 AM

Yes, this is the same hotel as last year.

Garry L Gordon 04-09-2022 10:19 AM

Brian, is there a cut-off date by which tickets must be purchased? We are planning to attend, but have some issues to sort out before we can make definite plans. Thanks!

Brian Hornacek 04-09-2022 11:27 AM

Great question, Mike has to inform the venue 7-10 days in advance of the number of attendees so no issues up to May 24 and we can likely work with you a few days beyond that.

CraigThompson 04-10-2022 12:25 AM

Dress code this year will be more like baggy shirts , Bermuda shorts and flip flops correct :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

We have always enjoyed great service and good breakfasts at Denny's in Vestal

Denny's???? If they're open, Village Diner in Johnson City, a dive that opens when they want if they want, and always a line. Chris's Diner on State Street Binghamton, most certainly a line and that's where all the LE eat. Rolando's in Binghamton for SURE for BFast. Union Hotel in Binghamton for a later night burger/wings/beers/shrimp Po Boy. Airport Inn if you want a midnight bite. Everything here is 10 minutes apart since we're podunk.

Dean Romig 04-14-2022 09:07 PM

I know.... "Nobody goes to Denny's - they end up there..." but we were always satisfied. The service has always been great and everything they serve for breakfast has been excellent - why look further?!?

Pray tell... what's a "LE"?

.

Andrew Sacco 04-14-2022 09:27 PM

LE is Law enforcement. They are a big supporter of them and that matters to some. It’s a small town thing I guess. To be fair Dean you ARE going after all the SUNY students are gone and that makes all the difference in the world. When 20,000 students are here it’s not a happy place.

CraigThompson 04-14-2022 10:05 PM

I dunno about breakfast in the Vestal area , but we ate dinner at an Italian joint close to Vestal , Cacciatore‘s . That place was awesome

The Holiday Inn offers breakfast and the rates as per the Vintagers were not outlandish.

Cacciatore's is very solid and always busy for a reason. Nicks Pizzeria and restaurant in Endicott is also great. If anyone wants about the best meal in town McCoy's Chop house in Endicott is top notch. Also in Endicott Oak's Inn and Joey's are very good.

Mills Morrison 04-15-2022 09:39 AM

We found some local diner for breakfast in Vestal that was pretty good. Given the choice, I will pick local. Might need to try the Italian place

keavin nelson 05-02-2022 09:25 AM

The Candlewood block of rooms is gone. I did get a rate close to this with other discounts.,

Brian Hornacek 05-02-2022 10:34 PM

Thanks for the update Keavin.

There are many hotels in the area and as Keavin said there are many options for a place to stay.

See you all in a month!

Austin J Hawthorne Jr. 05-05-2022 07:29 PM

The Panera Bread eatery in Vestal has been my breakfast stop for many years.

Yes sir ! I agree whole heartedly , I can do all the chains I want at home .

Mike Koneski 05-23-2022 10:25 AM

Cacciatori's, Nick's Pizza, Moghul Indian Restaurant, Podlasie Polish Restaurant, Moxie Steak House are all very very good eateries.

Mills Morrison 05-26-2022 01:51 PM

It has come to my attention that some folks who are camping at Hausmann's would like to come to the annual meeting if they can get transportation. Please PM me or look me up when we get there Friday and we will work something out.

Dean Romig 05-26-2022 06:38 PM

Thanks Mills - I will.

Garry L Gordon 05-27-2022 02:30 PM

Can I assume that a blazer/coat and tie is appropriate attire for our annual meeting and dinner? Never been before, so it would be nice to know. Thanks in advance.

Mills Morrison 05-27-2022 02:33 PM

That is correct.

If you have khakis and a Hawaiian shirt you won’t be alone. Just sayin.

Dean Romig 05-27-2022 03:17 PM

Garry - A blazer and tie is very appropriate. Some dress a little more informally while some dress up a bit more - your call.

It looks like we will finally meet as I am planning to attend.

Thanks very much for your very kind PM.

Dean

My tails haven't made it back from the cleaners in over twenty years so navy blazer khacki's and an oxford with tie will have to do

Mills Morrison 05-27-2022 03:45 PM

By the time most people are old enough to wear tails, they have no business pretending they look like Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers.

Thanks, Dean. I'm looking forward to it, and to meeting you.

That’s to shoot the Fox events. Plus, I never mentioned flip-flops. I do Crocs. Danny Patton is the flip-flop king!

And I'm going to guess here that you will be wearing your formal Tom Selleck Magnum PI hawaiian dress shirt with a bowtie and those polished leather cordovan crocs. Sami can't take you anywhere. The last time she took you to a nice restaurant you dropped your tray and the Jello went everywhere.

Well I’ve not worn them in over twenty years and I’d like to think I was still sleek enough then to wear than lols !

I prefer slides that were made by Crocs but can’t seem to find them anymore .

I don’t wear a regular tie, I wouldn’t wear a bow tie if you held a gun to my head!
