Well, here it is, my O frame, 0 grade 16 hammergun with its new set of 20 ga 28 in twist barrels. Dave Fejline did the fitting . They fit great and the gun feels better with the longer barrels than with its original 26 in, which are lying next to the gun. Can't wait to try it on some clays. Thanks Edgar, Keith, and Dave

Ya gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince. That was a stroke of luck if I ever saw one.

Harold, you can’t ask for better than that.
|
Very nice Harold, that is great that it all worked out!

Harold what a great score and Dave is great to work with he fixed my little vhe 28 in record time .

If I do make it to Hausemanns in June I’d love to see that ! Looks rather sporty by the pictures

It sure is nice when things come together like that Harold - Congratulations!
You’ll be rinsing that frog taste out of your mouth for a long time to come and I predict some serious “rinsing” in the campers’ corner at Ernie’s in June! . |
Looks good Harold. Frogs don't taste that bad.

I just got mine back from Dave too. He had it in his shop for four days. He fitted a beautiful set of 20 gauge 28” Damascus barrels to my 16 gauge Damascus 1893 Columbian Exposition GH. The guy amazes me!!!

Very nice!!!! Bring it to the Southern for us to see.

one lucky guy...very nice...charlie

I’d really like to find a set of 20 gauge top lever barrels for a 1 frame , preferably 30” but 28” would be okay as well . Of course choked M&F or F&F .
|
That is a nice fit! That is going to be one fun Parker with those 20 gauge barrels!
|
My GH with the 'composed' 20-gauge barrels is a bit heavier up front than with the 16-gauge barrels. I think the fact that the 20's are 28" and the 16's are 26" might have a little to do with it, but the wall thickness at the breech end of the 20's is sure a lot thicker than the 16's for the first 10 inches or so.

Also got this 2 barrel set back this week, my G. Forrester 2 barrel set 20 ga made in Kelso Scotland. It is truly a magic wand. 5 1/2 lbs with its 30" Damascus cyl/cyl, and 5 3/4 lbs with its 30 " cyl/f tube. Both are stamped Nitro proofed and 70 mm chambers. I killed 3 grouse with 3 right barrels, and somehow the left hammer fell off lost in a clear cut.
Dan Morgan, New Hampshire got me a new hammer from england, fitted it up and had it engraved. May sound blasphemous, but the Parker would go before I'd ever get rid of this one. Now I need a couple 2 barrel cases. |
The second set is fluid steel, and both have the same serial #. Very little info on the maker, he was more famous for his fly reels and spey rods.
|
that's a nice one and a fether weight too....charlie
