NH Parker boys
So today three NH Parker boys, plus Frank from the kingdom of Massachusetts, went up tp Scarborough, Maine to shoot at the Scarborough Fish and Game Club. All went well for the first shoot of the year. We finished with a great lunch at the Portland Pie Company restaurant for lunch, then a tour of the Cabela's store there. Frank found a Parker "12 gauge" as marked on an "E" frame for $1345. We checked it out and it turned out to be a Parker 10 gauge on a a 3 frame with 30" barrels.
Very nice gun. Bores looked very good. |
Every time you guys put NH I immediately think NH grade not New Hampshire .

So, did Frank buy it??
Craig, you need to come to Hausmanns and shoot with the NH boys-Scott, Steve, Frank, Pete, and Bill--always a great time and great folks. |

This was a really nice gun. It had some nice surviving case on the receiver. The points on the stock checking was worn flat but the pattern was still there. A really nice EH 3 frame with honest wear. They would have taken a 1000 for it but like Steve said, I've got plenty of 10's.

I just returned from 3 days at the Maryland Arms Collectors show at Baltimore. Apart from one 00 frame 28ga VH, and an overpriced VH20, the bulk of Parker offerings was ridden-hard 12bore DH and GH guns, albeit bargain basement prices. People seem to be hanging onto high condition, and small bore guns.
I sold a huge part of my Winchester lever collection, and came home with cash and nothing to replace them with. |

There were a few tables with your kind of guns; 4 and 8 bores, barrels from here to eternity. One, so long it needed a telescope to see the front bead. |

So, Edgar, tell us about the VH 28 with 00 frame. Who has it for sale? Was it a 32" or maybe a 34" barrel gun? Sorry I didn't bring my 28 for you to inspect, but I couldn't physically carry it into the show. My cane and walker and a ham sandwich were about all I could carry.

The 28 was ok, good colors, but only 26". All the 32" 28s were sold. It was up near the top of row S (or maybe T) and he said he sold it, but it was aTony price, so I wasn't too interested. I think there were at least 5 fewer aisles, but our table was still at the steel column with an outlet, so M, being the middle of the alphabet, maybe they set that row up first. |
Good to see the crew getting to Scarborough again!
