New Day. New Gun.
4 Attachment(s)
Took the 12g GH out today for the first time. Gun made some dandy shots on farther crossing birds. Shoots really nice. Also had Jo and Mick on birds. Today was the first time I had mom and son hunting together. That was a treat! Solid points and retrieved to hand. It was a good day indeed!

I want a new gun!!
Great dogs! |

BTW, #2 frame 30” Damascus 12g with fish-tail top-lever. Bbls are stamped 5lb 5oz.
The Setters, Jo is 4 and Mick is 1. |
Garry, our snow and the 2” of ice underneath it disappeared last week with temps in the 50s. It was high 20s today and tomorrow we’re supposed to get another snowstorm. :banghead::cuss::crying:

Yep, there's a PP article right there. Looking forward to it.
|
Mike, what are the chokes on that beauty?
. |
Dean, I’ll have to measure them. I’ll get them checked tomorrow AM but my guess is F/F.
|
R. .031 (F) L .033 (F). One could argue LF but I’m not going to split hairs here.
|
Those are great chokes Mike. My 30” Titanic DH 12 has .033” and .032” constriction and does everything I need it to do, including 40 yard head shots on more than a few longbeards.

Well done! Bird season is over here and we are on to turkey season next
|
We hunt preserves until April 15. Turkey season opens April 30 this year.
|
Quail preserves continue through March, but I hang it up at the end of February. Too hot in March
|
March can give us 50-60 and sunny or 15 with 30” of snow. It’s a rather schizophrenic month.
|
Mike, you forgot mud. March is mud season. At least the woodcock will be working their way back north and the dogs can have some fun before they nest.
