D H Hammer gun WOW!!!
 

I was privileged to see the best hammer gun I have ever had the pleasure to see. It was bought by a collector at the Las Vegas show. It may be unfired, honestly, this is the finest "AS NEW" hammer Parker I have ever seen, and it is not for sale at any price. This collector was absolutely thrilled, and the only problem is He beat me to it! I hope this gun will be displayed next year!

That one I did not see but I sure would have liked to have seen it. Even better if I could have seen it before it was sold :)

Technically The H in DH is for hammerless. So it would just be a D grade.

And I do not want to be a naysayer, but do we really think that a gun that is likely well over 125 years old is actually unfired? I take it as just a figure of speech?

It would be nice to see it.

So then it would be safer to call it LUIUALN :rotf: ! LUIUALN would mean “lightly used if used and like new” :whistle:

“Unfired” is a figure of speech - we all know these guns were test fired at the factory. I once owned an “unfired” Parker hammer gun that was so “as new” there were no shell head impact makes on the breech face, the faces of the hammers showed no evidence striking pins, and so on… It was truly as unfired as it could be after it left the factory.

The gun was as close to new as I have ever seen, and believe me I have had the pleasure to see quiet a few.

As I continue to learn about these guns, the one thing that evades me is "condition." Learning if it was refinished, refurbished, re-$*&#ed up, whatever. I think Randy said he saw a .410 (?) with a high price but not enough "condition." I could be wrong. I'm wondering where the best place is to see as new to original as possible would be? A show like Vegas? A museum?? Call me cynical but I trust fewer dealers the more I get into this. I would have loved to see that gun as close to factory new as described just for the learning experience.

The gun was purchased by a very astute collector- dealer. Like I said, I have never seen a hammer gun in this condition, and I have handled many Parkers when I was in business, as well as prior to that while collecting!I wish I had the chance to buy it!

Sorry Andy, that was a few years ago. But Louis Parker will have a fantastic display at this year's HOF and you must attend. It will be held during the Southern in Sanford NC.

Everyone is welcomed. Just have to pay the ticket price. Of course, a new member is even better. No better place to join the PGCA than the Southern.

A new gun can be fired a number of times without there being brass transfer on the breech face.

I had the gun for sale on Thursday and Friday. It was a very clean and fine high original condition gun. It wasn't as new or unfired, in my opinion. I would describe it as very nice with some wear to the original damascus pattern, about 60% original case color, and most of the original wood finish. I sold it to a long time friend who I know will use and cherish it for his shooting needs.

I saw the gun for just a minute, and thought it was better, My bad!! But a graded hammer gun in this condition is a certain jewel.

When is the Hall of Fame dinner and what day? I have to hit that for sure. My buddy said he needs to attend to see what it's all about. I'll get him to join the PGCA. I owe him a favor so I may "gift" him a membership.
