Spring Southern Accommodations

Has anybody arranged for a block of rooms for the Spring Southern?

Randy G Roberts 01-19-2022 08:51 PM

Not to my knowledge as of yet. This should happen soon I would think. I did try a few weeks ago when I booked but the hotels were not interested in doing so that early.

going to try again this year to attend, will be my first time. had to cancel out last year. i was wondering about nicer places to stay at close to town. this time i'll be bringing my now retired wife, and i'll be hitting the 65 year mark, so it will be a different planning on accommodations. any help would be appreciated guys. thanks matt k.

spring southern accommodations

I just checked Comfort Suites and they are full. Has anyone checked Residence Inn. Their website is a pain to navigate

This値l be my second time to stay overnight at Sanford , last year I stayed at the Econo Lodge , but I was traveling with just my Boykin . All I can say is the shower was warm , the sheets were clean , the air con/heater worked and no one broke in my truck . So it provided all I needed , I did have to pay an additional $10 a day for the dog to stay in here cage in the room . A big plus for the Econo Lodge you can walk across the parking lot to a pretty decent seafood joint .

matt koepnick 01-28-2022 11:52 AM

we also found out comfort was booked up. holiday inn express was prob next choice.they were still taking reservations when we checked wed nite. prices from when i had booked last year were noticeably up. may hold off one more year.

If our leaders are up to par like past years, they may be blocking rooms at the same hotel as past years. What's up?

Brian Dudley 02-02-2022 12:03 PM

Will we see you there this year Bill?

Bill Murphy 02-02-2022 01:23 PM

Yes, and I have presents for you.

CraigThompson 02-03-2022 04:01 PM

Well I have a covered room that has a bed supposed hot water supposed heat/air con and I just got a golf cart reserved . Got shells loaded for all but my mountain howitzer . So all that needs happen now is for me to STAY ALIVE load the truck and drive .

Mike Koneski 02-03-2022 04:23 PM

We had our room in November. Once you get close to Christmas it seems like the hotels book up pretty quickly. Guess I'll be calling for my cart tomorrow and doing my preregistration with Deep River.

Andrew Sacco 02-03-2022 04:45 PM

Do you necessarily need a golf cart? I like to walk when I can, or use a gun caddy.

I am now on the Senior Circuit (60 or over) , not in as good shape as you and I like to carry extra stuff . I also plan to shoot six guns on Friday . I知 not walking all that and drag all the extra crap along . Nothing against walking I just choose not to if I have the option .

Dave isn’t coming this year ? Or just not bringing the cart ? As to hotel I think I booked it in November or December .

IMO yes, definitely. The Southern is to spread out. If you are going to shoot several rounds you can wear yourself out. Stations get jammed up, with a cart just move on to the next open one, hard to do that walking.

Dave and David will be there. I get a cart anyway as we often shoot different events. I値l wind up shooting 13-14 events not including the Smith-Parker Challenges. First year there I hoofed it around the course with two guns each trip around. Let痴 just say this will be my ninth or tenth year and I only made that mistake one time!!
