PARKER PISTOL GRIP
DID PARKER EVER MAKE A ROUND KNOB PISTOL GRIP. I HAVE ONLY SEEN THE FLAT GRIP WITH THE PARKER CAP.
THANK YOU, FRITZ DORNAN |
Parker made "round Knob" grips as well as others. Look in the "Parker Grades" page and the Album area and you will see examples. Here is a link to a grip album to start you off.

Robin,
WOW thank you for your reply. Does the Ball Grip do anything to the value of the gun? Thank you Fritz Dornan |
No, I don't think so.
|
Fritz,The true ball grip guns are mainly seen in the hammergun era. With the introduction of the hammerless gun the grip were called pistol grip in the stock books. At that point Parker offered straight, pistol grip and capped pistol grip guns.
Would I pay more for a ball grip/pistol grip gun? If the gun had everything I wanted plus that ya most likely a little more |

Thank you gents,

Thanks Fritz. I wish I had wiped the fingerprints off before I photographed it.

I suspect the fingerprints are John Dunkle's, forensic testing would reveal he has borrowed the gun at some point in time.
|
Are those fingerprints or drool stains?
|
I was going to suggest Dunkle's but Pete beat me to it.
|
Hammerless fishtail with ballgrip. Yup!
|
The early records refer to the ball grip as pistol grip or PG. The capped pistol grip is referred to as CPG. Around the 1910 time frame the order books actually have 1/2 PG for ball grip and PG for capped pistol grip. The latter records finally refer to the ball grip as "Ball". The straight grip is referred to as "_______". That one took us a while to figure out.

Hmmmm... something went wrong.
Another try. . |
Dean, do you hunt with the Annie Oakley gun?
|
Those ball grips are my weakness, that and the red wing checkering pattern.

If it were mine Bill, I probably would. None of those ball grip guns are mine except the CH a couple of pages ago with the fleur di lis checkering void on the ball. |
Bob, what is a "red wing checkering pattern"?
|
