What's on your wish list for 2022??

At year end I look at my gun collection and try to come up with a plan to upgrade some and decide which I would cast off if a more interesting or better example came along. I have a self imposed limit on the total of 30 (up from 25 a few years back :rotf:).
2021 was a active year, sold 8 and bought 4.
My Wish list for 2022 is pretty short:
1. Lefever 12ga 30" Grade C damascus with fancy filing on the breech end of the barrels.
2. AH Fox XE 20ga 26 or 28" barrels un-messed with condition.

How about you???

Yep Dave, what a beauty!!!

Garry L Gordon 12-06-2021 01:37 PM

At the top of my list:

A 16 gauge BH, preferably straight/splinter with two triggers...and Damascus barrels (yeah, this is as wish list.

L. C. Smith 5E small bore, also with straight/splinter and two triggers.

Jay Gardner 12-06-2021 02:00 PM

Shooter condition 20 GH or DH, straight stock, 28" damascus barrels.

Gawd they made some beautiful guns. Most under appreciated/overlooked US manufacturer?

Victor Wasylyna 12-06-2021 02:06 PM

An opulent 16 gauge field gun. Straight stock with splinter forend. 26 or 28 inch barrels.

Gary's 16 gauge BH would fit my bill.

-Victor

Jay, I don't think they are overlooked as much as hard to find. They did indeed make some beautiful guns.

Dean Romig 12-06-2021 02:49 PM

My wish for 2022 (early) would be for RST to be back up to 100% production capacity with NO future shortages.

I guess what I need is an Ithaca NID 20-gauge No. 4E with 26-inch barrels. My NID .410-bore, 28-, 16- and 12-gauge are all 26-inch, and standing right in the middle of the row is a 20-gauge with 30-inch barrels.

Andrew Sacco 12-06-2021 03:10 PM

A 28 or 30" barrel VHE in 12g on a #1 frame choked M/F. Nothing fancy, but a solid unmolested workhorse that fits me for ditch chickens and ducks. My goal last year was to sell 4 guns and buy two. I sold three and bought six. Don't know how the hell that happened.

Gary Carmichael Sr 12-06-2021 03:10 PM

Well I am down to twenty Parkers, from 50 Thinning out, only looking to buy the unusual or very rare, I have been blessed to own some really nice Parkers, but as they say time for someone else to be the caretaker , Gary

Robert Brooks 12-06-2021 04:01 PM

A straight grip smallbore Parker Fox or Charles Daly with sst that fits me perfectly! Bobby

Joseph Sheerin 12-06-2021 04:17 PM

I just want to have a healthy 2022.... :D

Dave,
I would like to help you lose that NID 20 gauge 30" gun, what are the specifics on the 26" 20 gauge NID that you are looking for?:corn:

Milton C Starr 12-06-2021 05:34 PM

For 2022 I am thinking either a Colt 1883 or Lefever in 10 gauge. I started picking up interest in Lefevers recently and the Colt 1883s caught my interest because I feel like most people overlook them.

Stan Hillis 12-06-2021 07:15 PM

After my Sterlingworth Ejector turned out to be such a great upland gun, I'd be looking for a really nice graded Fox in the same configuration, 20 gauge and 28" barrels, with ejectors. There's something about small bore Foxes, they're so petite.

Mills Morrison 12-06-2021 07:50 PM

I would love to add some A, B, or C grades. I still need a 1/2 frame.

Bruce Hering 12-06-2021 08:19 PM

Keeping my eyes open for a GH 16ga, Damascus or fluid, barrel length to be decided, straight grip, O frame. I may go blind before I find one.

Mills Morrison 12-06-2021 08:25 PM

Hoping to exit 2022 solvent enough to go back to Africa in 2023.

Don't get so set on getting more that you forget to use the ones you have. That is my new philosophy and we'll see if it holds up

Jay Oliver 12-06-2021 09:03 PM

I got some wonderful Parkers this year so I "should" be satisfied. I am going to focus on getting the handful of projects I have out back to me and then send a few more off for work.

If I had to list something I would say an 8 gauge Parker hammer gun. That would be something special to add to my collection.

Quick Edit after realizing I should make more out of my wish...I would like to get a 12 gauge lifter in A or B grade as well...

John Davis 12-06-2021 09:22 PM

I’ll know it when I see it.

CraigThompson 12-06-2021 09:46 PM

A DH 12 gauge no safety vent rib 32” trap/pigeon gun with high stock dimensions would be nice . A Remington era VHE 20 gauge straight grip checkered butt single trigger beavertail forend 26” actual skeet gun would be great . A DHE or VHE 20 gauge 1 or 0 frame 32” gun choked fairly tight would be nice . And dare I say it a VHE 28 gauge 00 frame 30” also choked tight .

Yea, right...... LOL

Wish List:
1. A mechanically sound 20 ga with a shorter than 30” barrel, mostly to entirely original parts, pistol grip and I don’t care what grade or how well loved (beat up/nicked/dented) as long as it’s prepared to go hunting for woodcock and grouse.

2. A mechanically sound 16 ga with 30” or shorter barrels, mostly to entirely original parts, pistol grip 0 frame and I don’t care what grade or how well loved as long as it’s prepared to go hunting for pheasant.

3. To be like you guys who buy, trade and sell multiple Parkers per year!

Randy G Roberts 12-07-2021 11:17 AM

I am unable to focus on 2022 as of yet. Seems as though 2021 still has promise :corn:

A fully optioned Skeet Gun to match my 12-gauge No. 4E -- beavertail, vent rib, twin ivories, single selective trigger.

Not sure I could give up the 20-gauge I have as it is the only "round knob" NID I've ever seen.

Dave,
I can't say I've seen a round knob pistol grip on an Ithaca NID before, I understand your hesitation to part with it.

I will not be able to help you with a 20 gauge Skeet gun, most NID Skeet guns I've seen are normally in the New Ithaca Field grade configuration, a 4E would be a dandy.
I do have a Grade 2E NID that almost fits that configuration perfectly except it is a single nonselective trigger. I believe it is too early to be a Skeet model but would have to double check that.

Well darn the luck then. It was not me as I've been pretty calm of late when it comes to buying. Well a couple months anyway.

Bill Murphy 12-07-2021 05:56 PM

Randy Roberts and I are on the same track. 2021 isn't over yet and I have a VHE 28 gauge Skeet and a DH 36" Titanic barrel 8 gauge in the bag, and I'm not broke yet. Ask me about 2021 later in the month. By the way, I wasn't shopping for either of those guns when they appeared out of the blue. I'm not a shopper, I'm a still hunter.

Wayne Owens 12-07-2021 06:03 PM

Bill, Some of us are hoping you get a digital camera in 2021.

Dean Romig 12-07-2021 06:04 PM

A still hunter with night vision goggles…

I believe you know of what I’m talking about as I asked you about one you had earlier this year that was in the same configuration and you returned it . Not meaning I think you got the one I was after but know which one from me asking you questions

Ah, gotcha now.

Mills Morrison 12-08-2021 01:24 PM

Several guns found me, including the BH, thanks to a member here who knows who he is

charlie cleveland 12-08-2021 05:50 PM

the only thing I found was a 28 ga single barrel with 32 inch barrel....charlie

Paul D Narlesky 12-09-2021 05:03 PM

Well Fellas Since you asked..and it's close to Christmas and 2022. I would like a Remington Parker 20 or 28 gauge with 26-28" barrels and pistol grip in real nice condition, ejectors or not would be fine. I have been a good boy but I realize Santa has to stay within budget so I was going to help him out with cash Or to set him up with a place to hunt Turkeys and Blacktail if he would like.... Best of the Christmas season to you all ! Paul

Daryl Corona 12-09-2021 05:56 PM

I want to, in 2022, get rid of many of my 12ga guns and acquire an affordable M21 20 to fill in my quest for 20ga guns by the top American makers. So far there are Foxes, Parkers, Lefevers and an Ithaca.

Craig Larter 12-09-2021 05:57 PM

I forgot to add 2 to my list. I only buy damascus Parkers so a 20ga GH damascus and 20ga PH twist in any barrel length in very nice original condition.
