Organized Chaos!
5 Attachment(s)
I was looking at the reloading cabinet Dale posted. Very nice and way more organized than my laboratory!! :rotf: Figured I’d post some pics of where Dr. Evil concocts his creations. I do not have photos of my component storage, that is a Freedom Bunker State Secret!!
|
Looks like you've cleaned up since the last time I was up there!
|
wow what a nice cluttered up shop....mines that cluttered but aint as big as yours....you win .....charlie
|
You're a man after my own heart.

From 10 down through .410 plus black powder paper and brass hulls. Throw in a myriad of metallic cartridge and there’s plenty to do. I avoid the loft when it’s too hot but cooler temps and I’m all over it. :)
Just started using the Spolar again after a 12 + year hiatus. Even had it set up for the shells I want to make now. 12g 7/8oz with 16g Clays for 1160 FPS. Also have top plates for 20, 28 & .410 if I want production numbers. I spoke with Spolar last week and they may be able to set me up with a top plate for 12g that'll load 2 1/2" shells. If they can do that I may inquire about a 16g 2 1/2" top plate too. |
Daryl, I got the hull bin idea from Mike Smith. Thought he had a great set-up.

In the immortal words of Frank Barone...... Holy Crap!!
. |
But the important thing is I do know where everything belongs!

Mike,
where's the gold colored shot shell reloader, I thought I might get a glimpse of it? Or is that the loader with the cover on it? Stan Hoover |
My mom an artist lived by "yea can't be creative without making a mess!" Mike your reloading shop follows that wisdom.

If that holds true Craig then I would be classified as a "creative genius".:) There are photos of Einstein's desk after his death and it looks like someone just dumped a box of papers on it. |
Well, I am working on acquiring MEC press #3, so I have a bit to catch up, WOW! Now with the law of averages, I would guess at least 50#s of powder and, oh 250# of shot stashed somewhere??!!!!!

Here ya go Stan!

Nice Mike,
I'm still dreaming, one of these days when I win big money @ Rock Mountain  Stan Hoover PS, I'm disappointed, where's the hydraulic system? |
No need for hydraulics. By myself I can easily do 800+ shells per hour. If someone sets the wad in the guide we've done 1000/hour. That was back when I used to shoot registered and needed a lot of shells for practice.
|
You need a chair with wheels!
|
Mikey that Spolar is sporty looking and I've heard theyre top of the line !
But if I ever upgraded from the Rube Goldberg MEC's I'd have to go back to PW's . I'm sure there are more changes than I see but the basic design is the same or so it appears to me . Then again a new Spolar is about double the cost of a comperable PW unit . I'm with you on the hydraulic aspect of loading plus I don't want the likely chance of hydraulic lines leaking in my shop or basement or wherever I might have the unit set up . |

You need the same thing I really need , a PW LS-1000 setup at the factory for 10 gauge 2 7/8" |
PW's or Spolar
I currently use a PW for 12, 20, 28, and 410, and I'm waiting on 16 gauge dies.
it is easy to switch gauges and I like it allot. I of course have a Mec setup for 10 gauge 2 7/8 and also a Mec for 8 gauge. I would still like to try a Spolar, am I wrong in thinking the Spolar would be the Cadillac of shot shell reloaders Mike? Stan Hoover |

Here you go Stan, Spolar hydraulic with dies for 12,20,and 28ga. I don't care what reloader you have, they all have their pluses and minuses. I can take off a 12ga. die for example, put it back on a year later and nothing will have to be adjusted and it will make a perfect shell. In the picture when the shell is ejected out the back, there is a large hole in the bench top and the shell goes into the drawer. Your welcome to stop in when your in the Harrisburg area and see it in action.

Nice!!
Chuck,
That is beautiful, well thought out. We need a green emoji, to signify jealousy :) I will have to take you up on that offer sometime, Thanks, Stan Hoover |
