Back Bay Blaster 8 gauge Event at the Northern SxS Challenge.

Back Bay Blaster 8 gauge Event at the Northern SxS Challenge.
If your interested in shooting the event as a group with other 8 gauge shooters meet at the Rock Mountain 5 stand at 10:00am Friday July 30th. If you own a 8 gauge but lack shells and would like to shoot it contact me at superfoxcollector@gmail.com
It should be big fun to shoot as a group!

I’m scheduled to be there for the whole thing so I’ll try and be there .

Stan Hoover 07-10-2021 07:58 AM

Count me in!!

Mills Morrison 07-11-2021 08:45 AM

Dang! That sounds like fun

CraigThompson 07-11-2021 03:53 PM

Hmmm I’m curiouse what numbers of participation has this event had in the past ? Is it possibly enough for a hammer class and a hammerless class ?

Craig Larter 07-11-2021 06:28 PM

Craig: I give Mike K credit for holding a 8 gauge event but at present the number of shooters is very small. Collector interest in 8's is pretty strong but many don't shoot their 8's because ammunition is unavailable and many don't want to pursue reloading.
The more we promote the 8 gauge through the Facebook page and at shooting events the more interest will grow. Hopefully, RST will decide to load 8's, that would be a game changer in my opinion.

You are correct and to cut down on domestic disagreements I don’t do FB anymore .

RST told me not long ago the only thing holding them up on bringing a 8 gauge load to market was supply shortages and hopefully by next year things would improve and they could get them out .

Stan Hoover 07-12-2021 06:20 AM

At this same shoot last year, 2020, Morris (RST) stopped by with some loaded 8 Gauge ammo and said they will be offering this in the very near future. I'm sure they hadn't planned on this crazy market and suspect that is why it is not yet offered on their website

Stan Hoover

PS. Maybe if an 8 Gauge owner is in need of ammo for this event or the Vintagers, a phone call to RST might get you some 8 gauge ammo.

Mills Morrison 07-12-2021 09:41 AM

I have heard from RST they plan on bringing out 8 gauge ammo. All of the "stuff" going on the last few years has not helped their plans, I am sure.

Just for info, the Rock 5-stand has been converted to shoot Make a Break, snooker, whatever you want to call it. Good opp for anyone shooting there to learn the game. :)
