Interesting short read about ammo shortage

The part that got me was "What would the NFL do if it had 9 million more people who wanted to go to games...build stadiums, how long would that take?"

Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere here, it's pretty new

Taking the article at face value the big question is, do you and I have enough ammo and components to shoot and hunt as you would like to until January 2024?

The summer cool down? What shooting sport experiences a summer cool down? Certainly not any of the shotgun sports, in fact I think summer would be peak demand for trap, skeet and sporting.

Very high prices have always been the cure for anything in short supply. Will prices go even higher from where they currently are to stabilize the market? With such demand and the potential for increased profit that must be a very tempting question for manufacturers and retailers alike at the present time. Personally I would rather see high prices and availability vs. empty shelves. That would stop the scalping and panic buying/hoarding to some extent. If the empty shelves continue into the fall I predict as far as the crazy high scalper's prices on GB so far, well you ain't seen nuthin' yet.

I have been wondering as i read all the ammo threads on different forums if our members in the U.K., Canada,Australia and others are experiencing similar shortages and price increases?

How long before Chinese ammo hits the shelves? They provide everything else it seems.

I frequent a few boards and sites in the UK or have UK members and they aren't complaining about Amos shortages. This would seem a good time for a foreign manufacturer to start importing to the states. I wonder what hoops they would have to go through to import ammo.

Thank you Ken, i hope a few more chime in about ammo availability in different parts of the world. With the shipping costs and shortage of shipping it would be no bargain.

Scary, but interesting! My favorite citation is..."Overall, more than 52 million people in the U.S. participate in the shooting sports, which is actually 2.5 times higher than the number of people who golf.”

Golf courses are nothing but a waste of a good shooting range

Golf is just a good walk spoiled

I talked with a group of three shooters at my club this past Tuesday. The three gentlemen work in the banking field and brought out some strange looking boxes of ammo. I could not read the print so I asked and was told it was African ammo. Never saw anything like that ever. I imagine with their investment connections they are buying any kind of ammo they are able to get their hands on.

Interesting. In "the day" most major golf courses/clubs also had trap and Skeet fields, but over time those were done away with because of their unpopularity with the new genre of golfers.

I have plenty of components to get by for 2 years as far as shotgun and rifle's are concerned. Pistol primers are nonexistent so that will suffer but the .22's will make up for it.
