It's Hell !
Last couple times I've gone looking for something in my loading room I've found stuff I forgot I had . Today I was digging out stuff to load a thousand or so 20 gauge and found the bag of SP-20 wads I thought I had . Then when I was looking for the CB knockoff wads of the WAA20 I found another 500 or so once fired WIN AA 20 hulls . So then I go looking for another 8 pounder of Unique and my 8 pounder of W572 and I find a couple pounds of SR4756 I didn't even know I had .
Looks like I'll try and do 1,000 20 gauge 7/8 ounce shells half with #8's and half with 7 1/2's . Plan to do about the same thing with 16 gauge ounce loads pushed with SR4756 in old AA hulls using SP-16 wads . Then if I feel good after the fact I wanna load 500 20 gauge 1 ounce loads mostly with #6's but a few boxes with #7 1/2's . Also wanna load 200 8 gauge shells maybe not before Hausemann's but atleast before Koneski's . |
Sounds like the reloading room could do with some or-gan-i-za-tion. :rotf:

I was at a "place" several years ago to where I could lock myself in my shop, arrange everything properly, and knock out 700+ an hour on my 9000G progressive. If you do everything right that ambition ought to be achievable, easily.

Got started today well tried to atleast . But I had plenty friends/visitors to take me off track :rotf:

FWIW I loaded perhaps 20 shells with Chedditte 209’s because I have 10,000 of them . Anyway there was no difference what so ever getting them to seat from the WIN 209’s . By my calipers there’s less then .001 difference .

Cheddites are all I am loading right now.
And, a lock will keep those "visitors" out. Serious reloading time ain't the time to be hospitable. |

Incidently there were a bunch of misinformed folks around home that claimed once you used Cheddittes the normal three would fall out . I've not found that to be the case as I a few months back loaded a pair of 410 hulls with WIN primers shot them , then loaded with Chedditte fired them and then loaded the third time with WIN and had no problems . |
I just came back from a birthday party shoot at a local hunt club. $14.50/box. No thanks - I'll shoot my reloads and save the birthday boy the cost. Others bought bottles of expensive booze - I shot my reloads.

Craig, I have not had any reloading problems either between the Win and Cheddite primers. Got 5000 cheddite and 5000 Win, will use the cheddite up first. I am not able to shoot weekly like many of you so should last me a good while. I picked up 4 100 packs of those Win Universal 20 ga last night at Wally world--glad the wife made me stop now.

I loaded 500 20's with 8's over the weekend . See if I can't knock out 500 or so with 7 1/2's monday . Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have the 16's takem care of as well . Then monday and tuesday before heading to PA I'll try and load a 100 8 gauge 7 1/2's . As to the primer thing after not seeing anything detrimental with the Cheddites I told the guy at the shop that watches out for reloading components for himself and I to keep an eye out for WIN and or Cheddite 209's . If memory serves I picked up 1000 Federal 209A's from someone in the last year or so . I may dig them out and use them up this week . |
