If you had to guess...

If you had to guess, what make shotguns are they holding? Don't know myself but both seem to have a dolls head and thinking they could be Parker's. Thoughts?
|
Cant tell from whats shown but I sure would liked to have shared a hunt with them.
|
Hunting with a setter they must be Parkers.

The one on the left appears to have a raised rib like some LC Smiths. The one on the right looks like a Fox to me. But I very well may be wrong.
|
I agree with you Reggie on the one the gentleman has. The vertical extension looks Fox-ish while the lady could be holding a Trojan... maybe.
I've seen their faces before... can't place them though. . |
Shotgun make ?
Notice the mans tie, does anyone want to venture a guess on the aprox. time frame the photo was taken ?? M

The dog looks like my Speck Broke on wild birds The last dog I will ever do that on. Im sorry to say. Finished his 16 th season on pen birds. At least I was wise enough by then to take plenty of pictures of him. Others Ive owned I don't have any pictures of. Those were the days When down south It was birds !

Judging by the dress of both of them, the collar of his shirt almost looks like a button-down oxford, the hats, his vest beneath his shooting jacket, the rubber pacs, their age - too old at the time of the pic for military service, the type of tire tread marks in the road, I'm going with mid 40's to very early 50's. . |
What a great picture!
|
Great picture. The Gent looks to me to be holding a gun with a Greener cross-bolt. My guess is a Husqvarna 310.
|
the gents gun lever is at center when the gun is opened, so not a parker ,fox or Ithaca .

The gun on the left looks like possibly a fox.
|
I wish i had been in the picture! Bobby

Dave is right about the Greener cross bolt with a small doll's head. The safety looks like a bumblebee type like on a Prussian Daly. I'm at a loss for the lady's gun, looks like a straight extension rib. Have we seen that gentleman before?
|
No question in my mind that these are solid citizens.
Everything is composed about the couple. The guns are open at the breach for the safety of all present; and the of the mien of the gent leads me to believe that I could trust him with my health, security, or money. |
My guess is simple---they are both doubles !!! I hunted in the 40's & 50's , never dressed like that !!! Rather poor, but hunted with a Partker, that I still have.

But you weren't their age in the 40's and 50's. I'll say the 30's at the very earliest - no earlier though.
