Waiting

Well, Breck Gorman shipped my GHE Damascus barrels two days ago and FedEx tracking said they would be here today. But is is 6:30 PM and they are in Connecticut now, not in New Hampshire. Needless to say I will not see them until tomorrow:cool:

Dean Romig 04-15-2021 06:39 PM

Breck shipped mine to arrive tomorrow sometime. The FedEx distribution is 1/4 mile down the street from me - let's see what time they get here...

Breck has been very busy lately. I'm glad he's busy but it must be stressful for him.

Thanks for all you do Breck.

Dean, I agree. This is not a reflection on him, just a frustration on the shipping process:)

Randy G Roberts 04-15-2021 08:52 PM

Fedex just dropped off a package here at 8:35PM so maybe you fellas will get lucky.:corn:

Mike Koneski 04-16-2021 11:47 AM

FedEx was supposed to deliver a gun here yesterday. No dice. Tracking shows it's on another truck and supposed to be delivered today. Not holding my breath.

Dean Romig 04-16-2021 12:19 PM

My barrels were to be delivered today but are being held at the FedEx facility down the road from my house and won't be delivered until the weather improves. I telephoned FedEx and said I want to pick them up myself. I'm expecting a call back very soon authorizing me to pick them up.

Ironically, I just watched a FedEx truck drive by as I was typing this...:banghead:

I sure would like to see some pictures Steve ? Always enjoy seeing Brecks work.

Dean Romig 04-16-2021 04:00 PM

It's been over 3 1/2 hours since I spoke with customer service at FedEx when I was promised a call back. So I just telephoned again and spoke with a different customer service representative. This one gave me such a line of BS saying nobody showed up to work today because of heavy snow. The snow started here at 9:00 a.m. and I'm sure everybody reported to work at the local FedEx facility, 1/4 mile from my house, this morning... and the snow stopped almost two hours ago.

So here I sit at the mercy of FedEx for who knows how long...!?!

With apologies to our own Dean, here are my 32" GHE Barrels fresh from Breck Gorman. And lets just say there is not a finer man to do business with from every perspective. My barrels had been blued and in doing so the engraved "band" around the breeches of the barrels was gone. Breck sent them out and had them re-engraved. I could not be happier with his work and dedication to detail. The last picture is a "before" showing the blue and buffed out engraving. Breck said the top and under rib are also Damascus which he said is not always the case, I guess a lot of them are steel according to Breck.

Dean Romig 04-16-2021 04:34 PM

What a difference Steve! Very nice!

Had they been blued?

The frustration....

My barrels have been sitting literally 1/4 mile from my house since 4:43 this morning.

A day late but by no means a dollar short! I am absolutely delighted!!
10 a.m. delivery.
I included the dime simply as a size reference for the tiny little crolles on these 28 gauge barrels. Actually, the bead is an even better size comparison to the crolles.

Very nice Dean 👍

Dean Romig 04-17-2021 02:34 PM

DHE actually Craig ;)
I might find it necessary to put off going to Ernie's this year... Not that I wouldn't rather be there than anywhere else in the world, but life gets in the way of living sometimes.

Mike Franzen 05-11-2021 01:36 AM

Wow that’s a nice gun Dean. How many Damascus 28 gauges were made?

Dean Romig 05-11-2021 06:09 AM

52 Total with only 10 of them being DH Grade and only 1 known of any grade to have been made with 24” barrels.
