I can't take all the credit for the pic. Pete lester Took it but i had the idea to do it there at a old railroad crossing between two old cow pastures. The post is from left over fencing to keep the cows off the track. Down at the end of the fields is a very nice stream lined with big old red oak dropping acorns in the water. Perfect wood duck spot.

I would pay money for a print of that ! Very nice to all involved.

Well done. What is the gun on the right, gauge and barrel length ? It looks long legged, not that I'm a fan of such things.

One of the nicest pictures of Parker’s and game I have had the pleasure to view.

Very nice Scott and Pete. I just love to see those 20's out there doing their thing. Not that I like 20 gauges mind you.:)

Hqve you bloodied the 32" SW yet?

None any better that I recall, and as a still-life.

The natural world as studio.

Great colors and detail. Thanks for the teamwork to get it done, and for the evocative story behind the photo.

Scott

then you both deserve equal credit

as Ansel Adams once said
"There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept."

Not unlike the world famous Getty Images - I've updated the opening page image and artistic credit accordingly.....

Parker / Remington era gun

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of info on a post 1934 Parker/Remington that appears to be Grade 2, GH, Serial Number 238674, SST.

Any detail would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest regards,
Mark

Dean Romig 04-13-2021 06:56 AM

Mark, you should order a PGCA Research Letter to get the most information possible.

However, the Serialization book shows it as a G grade, with ejectors, single trigger, beavertail forend, straight grip, 16 gauge with 28” barrels.

Sounds like a very desirable Parker.

Dean, Many thanks! Yes sir, a Research Ltr is in order as well. Simply wanted to ensure the matching Serial #s confirmed the details you kindly provided to the gun in hand before purchasing. Again, many thanks! WMH
