Looking for an approximate value

Any ideas on value? Looks like 1901model - 58,000 made - TY!!

28 inch barrel.

Dean Romig 02-24-2021 09:51 PM

It looks pretty decent but without barrel wall thicknesses, bore and choke measurements, barrel length and serial number to find original configuration and barrel length it would be hard to put a high end figure on it.

.

TY - will look for that data.

Steve Huffman 02-24-2021 10:03 PM

It is a Grade 2 or a GH and your serial number 107882 is not in the serialization book Looks to be a honest gun

Pete Swartz 02-24-2021 10:13 PM

Yes - s/n is 107882. It is stamped many times on a the gun. How/where can I get the barrel wall thickness?

The barrel wall thickness has to be measured by a person with a gauge made to do so . Could you post a picture of the top end of rib in front of the bead , will narrow one guess down of the correct barrel length . What is the length of the barrels ?

Steve Huffman 02-24-2021 10:35 PM

You could order a research letter on your gun its cheaper if you become a PGCA member the letter will give you info on grade barrel length and who may have ordered it . Go to the Home page and click on research letters for details. The letter will not give you the barrel wall thickness. That has to be checked as stated before

Rib matting is correct looks to be original where you located maybe some one closeto you could measure the Bwt and help you out one the value ,

Seattle area. Added two pics, 28 inch barrels - TY.

If things looked good as BWT and tight ribs and correct function and condition of bores and it was ordered with that pad Is the number on the barrel lug a 1 ? what gauge is it do you know ? if Its a 12 Id say value as a guesstament 1000 -1400. 16 gauge more .

Steve Huffman 02-24-2021 11:06 PM

How about 1 more picture of the under side of the frame / trigger plate in front of the trigger guard

Pete,
You have worked hard to get an answer on value. Most here are reluctant to value guns in this manner because of the many variables that impact real value. I think you deserve an approximate answer on value.
I would value your gun at about $2500 if bores are excellent and stock dimensions are good.
Good luck!

Bob, Thanks for selling me the GH you sold me as good as this one if not better for less than 1/2 of the 2500 you say Petes is worth. I have been watching alot of GHs and there just not moving in that 2500 price range Im not trying to cut Petes gun down at all .

Bob Jurewicz 02-25-2021 05:35 PM

I am of the belief this is a 16 GA gun.

Barrels look good. The matting ends properly, and barrels touch. What gage is it?
With an unstruck wt of 3 lbs 3 oz, would be a nice light gun.
I like it Pete(might have to put a new recoilpad, period correct of course.

Steve Huffman 03-01-2021 04:28 PM

Pete was wondering if this gun is a 12 or 16 ga ?
