Back into the stream of commerce.

The year is still young but I'm moving some iron to reload my gun fund, how about you??
Sold AH Fox AE 12ga 28" straight grip with B grade wood and checkering, Parker high condition grade 2 hammer gun, Parker DH 20/26" and Fox HE 12ga 32".
Bought nothing, but on the hunt.

CraigThompson 02-12-2021 05:38 PM

I’ve sold a number of percussion pieces a couple flintlock pieces , a number of old bib overall pistols , a few rifles and several 1911’s . Also rid myself of a fairly nice Trogan 12 30” . My intention this year is to get below fifty long guns and ten or fewer pistols .

Mills Morrison 02-12-2021 05:45 PM

I sold a bunch of stuff last year but it mostly defrayed the cost on additions. Thinking of saving up for bigger purchases this year

Craig Larter 02-12-2021 05:50 PM

Yea my self imposed limit is/was 25 shotguns so I'm still 4 over limit. I'm thinking I need to raise the limit to 30 LOL!

Dean Romig 02-12-2021 05:54 PM

I'm not selling anything at present but have three, going on four, Parkers or barrels out for various repairs, restorations and modifications.

I'm not really in the market for anything at this time but you never know... sometimes something you just can't live without sneaks up and bites you in the A$$.

I am buying straight grip small bores!

Andrew Sacco 02-12-2021 06:48 PM

I sold a Winchester 9422M, Ruger #1, LC 20g FW, Grade 3 Citori and bought a VH 16, Trojan 16, VHE 12 and will be getting a new (to me) CG Summit clays gun. I am not supposed to be shopping but if someone happens to put up a 16 on a 0 frame I'm all ears. I will not sell any handguns given the current political environment and most likely will grab another 1911 and a CZ 9mm.

Mike Poindexter 02-12-2021 06:54 PM

I sold a high condition Trojan 16 to a member here, and bought a higher condition LC Smith 16 and a Sterlingworth 20 to fill the void. Seems like I'm moving the wrong way in this!

Christ my 10’s and 12’s alone exceed thirty :banghead:

Phil Yearout 02-12-2021 07:39 PM

Neither buying nor selling...as of today :).

I’m trying to get down to a reasonable number in the next year or so as they’ll be staying at a friends house once I liquidate mine and make the move around the world . However I’m not against adding a Parker 20 gauge hammerless 30 or 32 inch as well as a Parker hammerless 8 gauge . If I can bring myself to liquidate my seven Browning Superposed they might turn into a K-32 or K-80 30” trap gun with Kolar sub gauge insert tubes .

Rich Anderson 02-12-2021 07:59 PM

I have a set of OO 28ga barrels I'll part with. Should sell a few Pre64 M70's as I don't shoot them. Also should thin the 20's and 16's as there are 12+ of each. Have a nice Fox CE 32 inch straight grip 12 that could use a new home. There's a nice GHE 32 inch vent rib 16 that doesn't get used enough to keep either. Actually putting a plan together to find new homes for these is easier said than done:whistle:

Randy G Roberts 02-12-2021 08:12 PM

Have not sold anything recently. Still buying but I'm getting kinda fussy of late. Still passionate about the long barrels but I have purchased some high condition Parkers that were stunted recently.

Harold Lee Pickens 02-12-2021 09:10 PM

Have thought about parting with a Sterlingworth 20 and 16, and a SW. 12 pin gun--I rarely ever shoot them, won't part with the A Grade 16. A Lefever Durstan Special 20 with ejectors hasnt been shot in years.
Wouldnt mind getting a Trojan 20, a 16 would be OK, but I believe I have 12 16 gages of various makes.
Would like to have a 30" 20 ga, and have looked at Dickinson and the new Upland Gun Co. offerings. I would sell my Grade 2 Ugartechea 20 27" IC/M if I did that.
My PH 20 Parker Steel 20 has not grown on me yet, wanted to take it to SD in January , but mother-in-laws health problems precluded that. Still, would buy if found something interesting.

charlie cleveland 02-12-2021 09:38 PM

I sold a coupla parker 20 gs s to thin the herd but spent the money on some thing aint got a single dollar to show for my guns....I m just not selling any thing for a while....charlie

Andrew Sacco 02-12-2021 10:12 PM

Any of you "hoarders" can PM me when ready to sell. No promises made but I've always wanted a Superposed, don't own even one. YET.

Donald McQuade 02-13-2021 08:43 AM

Looking to sell several items this year to fund a couple of SBT guns. I have a beautiful 28ga Repo that needs to go as it doesn't get the use it should. a very nice 20 ga M12 Skeet and a early second year production M70 that needs to find a new home. My problem is my fear of dealing through the mail so I will probably focus on trying to sell at shows like the NE SXS.

Dean Romig 02-13-2021 09:37 AM

I use UPS almost exclusively. Never had a problem.

Paul Ehlers 02-13-2021 09:58 AM

I've made the big decision to find other caretakers for around 15 to 20 guns this year. I just need to get off dead center and start listing them.

Keith Doty 02-13-2021 10:10 AM

Haven't bought a gun all year...........haven't sold any either.

Rich Anderson 02-13-2021 10:10 AM

Thats my problem. I just sold a pre64 M70 220 Swift and the tire kickers were a PIA. I'd planned of giving Steve Barnett some guns on consignment but thats unfortunately not going to happen. I'd rather put them with a dealer who has the contacts and for the 10% or so they would charge is worth it to me not to have to deal with the tire kickers. That door has closed now:banghead:

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-13-2021 10:23 AM

Well I have sold several of my high grade 12 and 10 gauge hammer guns, and have bought 20 ga hammer guns with the funds, so now I have concentrated on 16gauge and 20 ga hammer guns, course I still have some 12 and 10 ga high grades like the AA Hammer gun, and the AAHE that are consecutively numbered, as far as I know the only ones, Aways on the lookout for the unusual like the 38" 16 gauge I bought last year, Gary

Dean Romig 02-13-2021 10:45 AM

I know those guns Gary and how fortunate you were to aquire them. I don’t know that I’d ever part with those consecutively numbered AA’s and that 38” 16... so glad you got that one back... and your 20-bore hammer guns, there are still a few out there for you... keep digging!

Rich, even though Steve’s no longer with us, I understand his business is still quite viable, though without his personal touch.

Shane at CT Shotgun was good to deal with, as was Bill at Robin Hollow. Have not used Barnett, I will probably not deal with Puglisi. They have yet to answer one email inquiry I've sent or returned a call. When I got through I got a bit of an attitude when asking about a PH. Like it was a stupid question as to what the drops were (not listed) and what the serial number was (not listed) and whether he could send additional photos (long sigh...). I just told him forget it.

Gary Laudermilch 02-13-2021 11:33 AM

Not a collector. I buy what I have a need for and at present that is nothing but I will not be selling anything either. There is one exception. I am waiting for a local guy to show up with a Bernard 20 ga. That I will buy need or not.

Rich Anderson 02-13-2021 12:36 PM

I know that Steve's business is still viable but honestly I don't have much faith in his stepson. Right or wrong thats my gut feeling. Steve once told me that he didn't wish for him to take over the business as there was to much to learn. I'll have to give that one some time and see how it shakes out. Other than Chuck Brunner and possibly Steve Cobb there's not another dealer I feel comfortable dealing with.

Bruce Day 02-13-2021 12:43 PM

If you join the PGCA you can list them for sale on this forum.

John Davis 02-13-2021 01:18 PM

I talked with Austin (I think that's correct) at Barnett's Fine Guns about a gun not long ago. I didn't buy the gun but Austin was very helpful, responsive and seemed quite knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to deal with him in the future.

Tom Flanigan 02-14-2021 08:16 AM

My collection has been stable over the past three years and will probably stay that way. I've got every gun that I need and more. However, a Parker that I want may show up and then I be in buy mode again.

Ronald A Moore 02-14-2021 08:42 AM

collection went up by 5 in 2020, 152 and counting, to many but I like them.

Ron

Greg Baehman 02-14-2021 09:01 AM

I need another gun like I need a hole-in-the-head. However, I will continue my search for a pristine .410 0000-frame Parker Reproduction BHE with a straight grip, splinter forend and double triggers. My chances of finding one of those hovers right around zero, but it's the chase that makes it fun . . . and isn't that what it's all about?

Craig Larter 02-14-2021 02:29 PM

Funny how things happen in this hobby. When I first decided I would like to add a Parker DH(E) in 20gauge I really want a Damascus gun. I knew it would be difficult because only 129 DH's were made in 20ga with Damascus barrels. So a nice steel barreled DH 20ga came along and I bought it and loved it. Three years later I was able buy a real sweet DH 20ga 28" with Damascus barrels, nice CC with fine original condition that fit me. So the DH 20ga steel barreled gun went back into the stream of commerce.

Dean Romig 02-14-2021 02:35 PM

I’ve had my 20 ga. DH with 28” Damascus barrels for probably fifteen years.

I love it.

.

Rich Anderson 02-14-2021 03:22 PM

I have a GHE 20 Damascus that has exceptional wood for a grade 2 also another GHE in 16 with Damascus barrels.

CraigThompson 02-14-2021 08:48 PM

I want a VH/E or GH/E or DH/E 20 gauge with 30 or 32 inch barrels fluid or damascus as long as it’s stocked kinda high . But on the other hand I’m not holding my breath

Bill Murphy 02-15-2021 03:47 AM

Greg, I know where your Repro is and I am thinking about making a contact in the next decade or so. Ron Moore, 152?, I think it's time for you to go shopping. I am not looking for anything, but would sell almost anything. I'm of the age.

Ryan Brege 02-15-2021 08:10 AM

I lost out on a Damascus 16 probably due to "Tire kicking" a little bit. Keep in mind though that some of us are not so much tire kicking but we ask a lot of questions because the variations are so many. By the time I realized it was probably a fair price it was spoken for. I am not looking for a steal, I just don't like to be grossly upside down. Allan's top action 16 was probably one I should have jumped on in hindsight but I am really kind of looking for something graded.

Bill Murphy 02-15-2021 10:09 AM

Greg, I'm sure you would get a smile when you see the order for my BHE, 0000 frame .410 with straight grip and double triggers. I keep a copy in my files just to remind me what could have been. I wonder if Mr. Skeuse keeps a copy in his files.
