What is it; his "streetsweeper" 12 gauge SxS modified to a drilling with a .308 barrel underneath? Go Tony!

Brian Dudley 12-28-2020 08:04 PM

It is another RBL variant geared towards target shooting called the “Superbird”.

If they had 34 inch barrels it might sell a few more of them. Bobby

What’s with these names
Revelation, former brand name of Western Auto guns
Now a RBL named after a Plymouth muscle car from 1970.

If Tony comes out with a 65 GTO I'm buying!!

The Superbird was advertised on line by 15 December. Looks like a stripped down version of the RBL Sporting Edition, without the adjustable comb, the laser engraving and gold inlay clay pigeon and the weight & Balance system. Also only the one recoil pad so no adjustment for length-of-pull.

Great place to visit. I think I could live there.

I’ve always liked the RBL, just hate the laser engraving. I wonder if they’d sell them “in the white”?

Anyone here have an RBL slug gun they could report their impressions of?

Dean Romig 12-29-2020 06:52 PM

I wanted one of those but the price doubled very quickly.
What are they called, the Professional Hunter?

I have handled them a number of times and considered buying a number of times.

A friend, and fellow member bought an RBL 30+ years ago, and never even took the tissue paper off the barrels. Complete with the case. I put another friend together with him and he bought it. We took it down to New Britain and Tony and I BS'd about the 40 years over the dam since we met. My friend has orangutan arms, so he left it with Lou and we picked it back up a week later, NC. Now, at 15" LOP, my friend leaves only broken chips. Mssrs Anson and Deeley would be pleased. I liked the Christian Hunter but had to settle for another old Parker.

Yes that's it. They retail for 5K. I kind of wish they made a 12 gauge one. The 20 is fine for deer, I'm sure. They have a nice looking, plausible barrel band regulating system. If a 45-70 version, or better yet a 405 Winchester, was offered I would own one by now.
